Fantasy Island (1977–1984)

I hope seeing seasons 2-7 on DVD isn't just a fantasy!

As a teenager in the 70's, this was one of my favorite TV shows. I thought it had a truly unique and amazing idea for a show and there was nothing else like it on TV. I remember being instantly hooked on the show and looked forward to seeing the different guest stars each week fulfill their fantasies or dreams. Each fantasy was like a different show within that hour long period and each fantasy never seemed to turn out the way you thought it would which made the show even more interesting. Ricardo Montalban and (Da Plane!, Da Plane!) Herve Villachaize were great in their roles as hosts of Fantasy Island. I still love watching it and see it has fun and nostalgic. And in my opinion I still think it holds up well for that unique style all its own. After all it must've been a little special to last seven seasons and I hope eventually they all make their way to DVD!

Family...Thats what its all about.

This is one of those movies that I could watch over and over. From start to finish it was a great family/comedy movie that made me laugh a lot. The actors were perfect for their roles and there was so many funny lines and actions. So many good and funny scenes with dad learning to play the mom role. And he played it so humorously well. I thought it was great how the mom, dad reacted with their children and one another, very caring and realistic. The movie made one realize that you do whatever you need to do to keep your family going through rough times and also makes you realize how much you mean to one another. So realistic and yet funny. Definitely a feel-good movie.

Entertainment it ...tis!

I've always wanted to ride in a hot air balloon but am afraid of heights. I enjoy watching this exciting, colorful, adventure movie with an all star cast(including the monkey) over and over. It moves along at a nice pace with lots of fun, adventure and a bit of romance. It also had a bit of slapstick comedy which I don't usually care for in the movies I watch but didn't seem to mind in this one. The theme song is a very catchy tune. This movie came out the year I was born and I can't believe I've never heard of it before. As a kid growing up I was an avid watcher of some of Irwin Allen's other productions like the series Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and Lost in Space, which I now own on DVD. I would definitely recommended it for family entertainment.
