Dexter: Turning Biminese (2008)
Masuka: Not one person read my paper. Not one f***ing person showed up at the conference I spoke at.
Through Miguel, Dexter learns of a wife-killer who has gone free - the perfect person for his next kill.
Masuka changes his ways, because he feels that no-one is his friend and lets Angel and Deb know about it. They later back him up and cheer him back to him old self.
Miguel works out that Dex went to kill the bloke he had mentioned to him instead of going fishing. That's also why he was unreachable during Rita's hospital emergency. Miguel tells Dex he is proud and very pleased that he killed Turner. He tells Dexter that he understands him, and has nothing to worry about. That he is on his side and that he respects him.
Dexter: All in the Family (2008)
Masuka: Ticket? Angel: I'm seeing my daughter that night. Masuka: You don't even know what date it is. Angel: I have to keep my schedule open for her.
Dexter botches his first marriage proposal to Rita, but a shocked and grieving fiancé's display of emotions provides him with clues on how to show the proper feelings himself.
Masuka is feeling friendless after no-one will accept the tickets to attend his thingy. He even goes to the effort of trying to bribe them with donuts. Dex: The blind leading the blind.
Deb is good in the interrogation room, though Quinn has a different method and takes over. Quinn(to Deb): You got one tool in ya tool box, and it's a hammer. Dex and Deb look on as Quinn listens to the fiancé, Dex takes it all in, as a starting point for his proposal.
Truly wonderful ending, as Dex proposes to Rita and the kids.
Dexter: The Lion Sleeps Tonight (2008)
Dexter: (In his head) I could probably kill her before anyone realized what happened.
Deb: What do you think Dex? Dex: They all sound like good theories to me. Deb: Way to commit Dex. ;) Like he's committing to the baby.
Love the discussion between Deb, Quinn and Angel about Anton being locked up, Quinn starts off annoyed, but is satisfied with the reasoning.
Masuka: This is a deliberate insult against me and my people. Quinn: C'mon, c'mon... Masuka: Asswipe. Quinn: Who the f*** are his people? Angel: I don't know. Little scientists, I guess.
Very good ending scene, Dex lets Rita know he wants to be there for the baby by putting his hands on her stomach sending his good intentions to the baby.
Dexter: Finding Freebo (2008)
Dex: This department is becoming annoying effective.
Deb: Nice watch. Knockoff? Quinn: Me? No. Real thing only. I sold a kidney in Ghana. I'll show you the scars sometime. Deb: I'll give you a kidney not to. :)
Angel: My little girl is the best thing I ever did. I've messed up a lot. But in my darkest hours, Auri's my light.
Deb: I'm a cop! that's all I need! I'm not gonna do any f***ing scrap-booking! you got it? Javier: Scrap-booking? :D Deb: What's her name? Javier: I don't know! b*tch, c*nt, "hey, you. " Chick: Yeah?
Rita: It's time for a decision, Dexter. Having this child.. is a huge mistake, I've weighed out all the pros and cons, and all I've got are cons. Dex: I've been thinking the same thing. Rita: I'm keeping it. Good way to get the truth hehe.
Dex kills Freebo, Miguel runs into him with a knife and blood, and thanks him. Probably the weakest episode to this point in the series, but still quality viewing.
Dexter: The British Invasion (2007)
Dex monologue: Your going away with me alright - in a garbage bag.
Lila kills Doakes, which solves Dex's problem. Not happy to see Doakes go, such a great character.
Dex is in quite a predicament at Lilah's place with Deb there, Lila could tell Deb he's the butcher, seeing his killing tool bag and not luggage on the floor. I mean she doesn't really have anything to lose there, it would be safer.
Love the taxi scene with Deb as she receives a call from Rita about the kids being taken. Taxi Driver: Honey could you make up your mind. Deb: Why do I have to make up my mind. Cab driver looks puzzled :)
Pretty somber ending. We see Doakes' funeral, no-one attends. His life's work and friendships are destroyed and his family has to live with it. You also even feel a little sorry for Lila, she only wanted Dex.
Dexter: Left Turn Ahead (2007)
Dex: For such a neat monster I'm making an awfully big mess.
Dexter: I've really enjoyed our conversations, James. I lie to everyone I know, except my victims, right before I kill them. It's hard to establish much of a rapport there.
Lots of wonderful Dex/Deb scenes in this one.
Dex gets Deb to comes over to tell her he is the butcher, and imagines each scenario. :)
Deb: You decide who you are, who you wanna be and you ride it out.
Deb: Is this steak worth living for or what? A rye smile from Dex as he was about to confess and give up his livelihood, but comes to his senses with the help of Deb, that life is worth living.
Wonderful episode.
Dexter: There's Something About Harry (2007)
Dex: I got guards outside my door to protect me. From you!!
Dex: I have people who depend on me, who would be devastated. You are a lone wolf.
Again some bad flashbacks using current actors pretending to be young. I love flashbacks, but you can't use current day Jennifer Carpenter as a younger Deb, it just isn't believable.
Dex finds out Harry committed suicide, because of what he helped create. Dex: Me. - The idea of a code is one thing. A grand idea. A noble cause. But the reality of it... Harry walked in on what he created and couldn't live with himself.
Good episode. Not much new happens though.
Dexter: Our Father (2008)
Love Season 3 Baby!
I don't like Deb's new haircut. Dex has the druggie part down to a tee, all those addict groups sessions must have helped.
Dex kills Oscar Prado in self defense, as he is attacked while trying to get Freebo. Miguel Prado, played by Jimmy Smits makes his first appearance on the show. He is a wonderful character and makes season 3 truly special. Miguel asks Dex to come to the crime scene to ask him some questions. He then asks Dex to attend the wake. They form a bond over Oscar's death. :) All scenes with these two are golden and it continues on for the entire season.
Very good episode to start off my favourite season. And Rita is pregnant!
Rounders (1998)
Teddy KGB: Aces full, Mike.
Great cast: Matt Damon in my opinion is the best actor today. Gretchen Mol, beautiful and gives her characters that warmish caring feeling. Norton and Malkovich terrific and the likes of Janssen, Turturro, Landau and others.
A terrific opening sequence. Terrific score and great monologue. "If you can't spot the sucker in the first half an hour at the table, then you are the sucker." The big hand Mike loses all his money is pretty much a no choice situation A9rag flop holding A9 then 9 hits the turn and a rag on the river. Only hand that beats you is AA, which is the case ace and with no raise pre-flop it is impossible to get away from this. You could possibly not raise at the end, but that's about it. The key is not to escalate the pot with A9 to begin with. But it's a cooler regardless.
The judges stud game is a bit silly, but still abundantly enjoyable regardless. Mike says what they all have, in stud you can see 2 of a player's 4 cards on 4th street so you can guess what they have or are drawing at, but it is only a guess, you can't know. However by saying what they all have, Mike convinced them that he is betting a hand that beats those hands, and he only had a straight draw which didn't hit, so by them folding it worked. Because the guy with 2 pair may have called if he hadn't of told him what he was holding and still bet into him. :)
Ahh the dream girl Joe "Gretchen Mol", "You just told me you that you felt alive for the first time at a f***ing card table, what the hell is that suppose to make me understand."
Mike "F*** it. let's go. Let's play some f***ing cards!
"Does he look like a man beaten by jacks?" "Jacks are a monster compared to the crap you play Tacky." "F*** you." "F*** me? F*** you!" hehe :)
Mike is trying to help Worm, but Worm keeps screwing him over. Mike is doing well in the 20/40 stud game with the cops, till Worm comes along and ruins things. Base dealing Mike the nuts all the time. A player picks up on it, even though Mike wasn't raising and folding some because it was becoming too obvious. They get beat up and lose all their money.
John Malkovich is terrific as Teddy. Teddy goads Mike into playing him again, by saying it was his money anyway. Mike then goes onto almost lose it all, but then folds a monster because he notices Teddy's tell. Teddy "He beat me straight up. Pay that man his money."
A perfect movie. Maybe the best movie ever.
Dexter: Resistance Is Futile (2007)
Chico: Seriously, what's Lundy got, or is he just blowing smoke? Deb: Seriously, I don't know. But if he's got something, it ain't smoke. Lundy's too good to blow smoke.
Dex loses it when his slides are gone. When he goes into the police station, he cuffs his hands like he is handcuffed. Pretty crazy that he didn't do or say anything during that time. He had no doubts he was done.
Doakes doesn't tell Laguerta that he is pretty sure Dexter is the Butcher, so she isn't in danger, but you'd think Laguerta would have some clue of it being Dex, if it was someone in the department. Especially with him in charge of the evidence, putting Doakes in a bigger hole.
Doakes catches Dex, but doesn't fire his gun when Dex starts moving fast at him, like he would an unknown. He wants to bring him in, but could of knee capped him, like he said.
Laguerta is a cold hearted bitch, but when it comes to someone she cares about, it's quite the opposite. I really love the scenes between her and Lundy. He definitely puts her in her place, and in a respectful way.
Funny how much over acting these FBI agents and extras do without even having lines. Touching ties, facial reactions, over interest in something being said hehe.
Fantastic episode, intense from start to finish.
Dexter: Morning Comes (2007)
Deb: She's pale, and no-ones pale in Miami. She's obviously a vampire.
Dex is very assuming, walking into Rita's house after telling her he slept with Lila. His previous actions aren't like his usual actions, he is usually always a nice guy and therefore he thinks Rita will see him the same way.
Dex cracks when Batista tells him the Butcher is one of their own, spilling coffee, lucky Batista and Masuka can't see him in that light though. However considering Doakes's attacking him, then later Jimenez at the bowling alley, and his knack for knowing serial killers. It would at some point enter their mind.
Love Deb's attitude when Lila comes into the station looking for Dex, who lied about working late. Deb: Awww men are such pigs. waving goodbye :]
Dex goes back to finish off Jimenez. Ending him with the chainsaw, like Jimenez had used on his mother. Quite fitting. Jimenez: I'll F*cking Kill You!! (hehe)
Dex: Stay away from Rita. Stay away from me. Lila: Or what? Dex: Or you will see the monster. chilling :]
Dexter: That Night, a Forest Grew (2007)
Dexter: I just pulled from various blogs on the internet, mixed and matched. Presto manifesto.
Dex lies to Doakes, to have him lock up and interrogate an innocent man. He can just spin any story regarding the blood, because only an expert can understand it technically haha. Doakes confronts Dex about it. Dex head-butts him, Doakes retaliates and gets suspended for it.
Rita and her mother feud. Could of done without this...introduce her mother then get rid of her, what's the point of this.
Dex's manifest backfires as Lundy works out it was done to create chaos, and therefore the Butcher is most likely involved with law enforcement. Dex's new ways, which are a result of Lila's influence, are making things a lot worse for Dex, and he wants to go back to Rita and the kids but Lila keeps pulling him back in with deceit.
Good episode but nothing special in it.
Dexter: Dex, Lies, and Videotape (2007)
Doakes: You want to hit me? Go for it. I've been waiting for a chance to take your ass out.
Doakes talks with Deb about Dex being a junkie, and Deb sets him straight in about 2 seconds. ;] Deb: I'm glad you got some new material, cos freak and psycho were getting kind of tired.
Lundy wants Dex to accompany him in place of Masuka. Lundy hears he has a knack for knowing serial killers. Deb: Dexter also enjoys long walks on the beach and foreign films. (hehe)
Rita's mother is a f*ckin bitch!
Dex confesses to Rita of having sex with Lila, don't know why he needed to do that, he lies all the time. I didn't really like the Dex/Lila scenes in this one. Go back to Rita!
Dexter: The Dark Defender (2007)
Dex: My little sister, the cuddler.
Deb: If dad taught us anything, it's the value of human life. Dex: (monologue) Yeah, but I think we had different homework assignments.
Dexter learns that one of the three men who murdered his mother is still alive and, thanks to the Witness Protection Program, running a pub in Naples. On the trip there, Dex really opens up to Lila in a very character building moment. Later he confronts Santos Jimenez, but Lila's message that he doesn't have to be this person anymore, gets through and he lets him go. During this wonderful time, Jaime Murray hops in the shower, showing our buddy Dex and us the beautiful site.
Very good episode, could of done without Rita's mother involved.
Dexter: See-Through (2007)
Dexter: I refuse to believe that Vince Masuka is the man who single-handedly brings me down.
"At our most paranoid moments, we think everybody is talking about us."
Rita's interests are very conflicted at this point, she wants Dex to get help but not if it's by an attractive woman. And she does have reason to be concerned, as Dex starts to form a strong connection with Lila.
There is a lot of unnecessary stuff going on, Doakes handling the Barnes case, Rita's mother coming to stay, Pascal's problems and Laguerta's involvement in them, Deb screwing some random guy from the gym. Too much filler, not enough substance in this episode.
Dexter tries to destroy the evidence of his victims by sabotaging the refrigerator, but fails.
Dexter: An Inconvenient Lie (2007)
Dexter: You should take the night off Sergeant. Doakes: On pizza night, no way.
Masuka: The boss's melons look bigger on TV. Laguerta: Show some respect. Masuka: I thought I was. ;]
Dex is so chipper this episode, he finds the car salesman so amusing. Don McManus's facial expression when the hottie is walking off, thinking of what he is going to do to her, sums it up completely.
Rita is very firm, it's the meeting or the solitary road for Dex. He realizes Rita and the kids are important to him, he attends and opens up at the meeting, only to find Doakes had been there watching. However it works in his favour. Oh and by the way, you owe me a Michelin mothaf*cker.
We are also introduced to Lila, the blood sucking pommy vampire. ;]
Very good episode.
Dexter: Waiting to Exhale (2007)
Doakes: Go ahead. Try it. I've been waiting.
Love the convo between Deb and the Kid on the bike. "She's saying you f*cking cops don't do nothing'. "Grandma really talks like that?" "not exactly, but you get the point, right, bitch? ;]]]]]
Dex thinks Lil Chino is following him, and decides to go on the offensive only to realize it's just Doakes. "Who else you got following you?" Dex could of basically ended his problem right here, because no-one knows Doakes has been tailing him. But it wouldn't follow the code.
Dex: I will not kill my sister. I will not kill my sister. His sister's habits are getting on his nerves, which i can relate. Simply just putting things away, turning things off etc. Deb later realizes she is living in his place and to respect his living habits. Love Deb!
Rita confronts Dex over Paul's placement in jail. Which turns into Dex being a drug addict. hehe ;]
Only letdown is the Pascal and Laguerta crap. Terrific episode.
Dexter: It's Alive! (2007)
Doakes: Can we please secure this motherf*cking crime scene?
Dex takes up bowling with the guys from work, to try and rid Doakes off his tail.
Nice body Julie Benz!!!! more please.
Doakes: What's that a titty site? (hehe) Putting up something you'd close if someone came by doesn't really help his cause, so I don't really understand this. Why would Dex be mocking Doakes if he wants to get rid of him.
Stupid new lieutenant and Laguerta convo's are getting annoying and are wasting valuable screen time.
What's with the kid that he compares with himself, the look she has looks nothing like the look he had as a child.
Dex finds out his bodies have been found at the end, so you're excited for next ep. However this one falls a little flat of where the first season finished, but thankfully it turns out to be a wonderful season.
Dexter: Born Free (2006)
Doakes: Lab geek my ass.
As free as the wind blows, as free as the grass grows.
Don't like the new lieutenant but it's funny watching Laguerta annoyed and Captain Matthews smirking for that brief moment.
Dex monologues; "Something nameless was born here. Something in the deep dark hole that is Dexter". I don't buy these lines, Dex is a good guy, even if he does chop people up.
It's unlike Deb to not have looked around Rudy's place, considering she was the one saying that the killer probably isn't doing the killings in a factory and it's probably in their home.
Rudy and Dex together is a bit weird, brothers don't act this way, all the touchy feely crap, especially Dex, very much out of character. Rudy: takes the breathe away doesn't it" ??? the f*ck? This is ain't a goddamn love story.
Lol Deb always saves Dex's ass. Doakes wants him immediately suspended and Deb swoops in "Back the f*ck down! he just saved my life, he is a f*cking hero, I want you to treat him like one goddammit. Love Deb!
The plan of the fake Deb worked a little to well for me. Also banking on the fact Rudy would come after Deb that night and with no cops around.
Rita: Deb must be a mess. I mean falling for a serial killer? Dexter: What are the odds? ;]
Terrific gripping episode, with a few flaws. Love the fake celebration ending.
Dexter: Truth Be Told (2006)
Rudy: Deck the halls with parts of bodies, fa la la la la, la la la la!
Camilla: You've been busy. (hehe)
Dexter: Wake up Rita your not protecting them, your protecting Paul. Rita then takes the kids to see Paul in prison, in a touching scene.
Captain Matthews finds a replacement for Laguerta. Silly b*tch deserves it, screwing over her boss. Matthews is awesome.
Deb: When we catch this douche-bag, you and I can spend the whole weekend together in bed (all the dialogue at this point between the two is hilarious). Rudy tells Deb he is the Ice Truck Killer and she still doesn't believe it, until he physically restricts her. Deb: This isn't funny. ;]
The main story that has been building up all season gets intensified, Dex realizes Rudy is the Ice Truck Killer and that his sister is in extreme danger. Fantastic episode, the best of season 1.
Dexter: Seeing Red (2006)
Debra: Dexter, heads up. It's bad in there. Dexter: OK. Doakes: She's not kidding. It's your wet dream in there. Dexter: Okay...
Doakes: I need uniforms, backup, forensics, f*ck it send everybody! ;]
The Ice Truck Killer and the Bay Harbour Butcher sit down to eat some steaks.
Love the scene of Deb looking on as Rudy is about to get on the elevator, he and Dex both smiling and conversing. Deb then goes into Dex's work room to question him.. and and and ? talking, you actually talked, you opened your mouth and words come out.
Dex gets pretty lucky, his anger gets the better of him and knocks out Paul, no-one hears it nor sees him drag out the body. I don't know why Paul even had a case against Rita, I thought there was a restraining order against him in the first place, how can he be assaulted in a place he is not allowed to go.
Terrific episode.
Dexter: Father Knows Best (2006)
Dexter: Hey, It's Dexter Morgan. Masuka: dude, I know your last name.
They start dancing making Dex uncomfortable. (hehe)
Masuka: Did I call the hot Morgan by mistake, my subconscious has been exposed. Deb: Well zip it up. (haha) Easily Masuka's best line of the series.
As aware as Dex is you think he would pick up on Rudy in some way. He is quite imposing in terms of being forward and is quite cluey for just being Deb's boyfriend.
Again I love the flashbacks. Harry is such a caring father, Young Dex throws the card in the bin, "It doesn't matter". Harry: It does matter. Dex finds the card at Joe Driscoll's place.
A touching moment in the house when Dex is interested in finding out what happened to Joe Driscoll. Deb says he isn't even family. Dexter says, "I don't know what you want from me." "I want what Dad wanted. I want nothing to do with this guy. Let's just finish packing up this crappy house and walk the f*** away!" Dexter says "that sounds like a good plan."
Rudy going back to kill the old women at the end, kinda reminds us that this guy is a serial killer, and not a nice guy like Dex.
Terrific episode.
Dexter: Shrink Wrap (2006)
Dexter: I can't kill Dr. Meridien yet. I still need another therapy session.
The suicide of a wealthy and powerful businesswoman leads Dexter to suspect that her psychologist may have killed her. But Dexter gets a surprise of his own when he pays a visit to the suspect, Dr. Meridian, which he gets Dexter to open up dark secrets from his past.
Harry teaches Dex entry points, how not to be seen. Harry: This isn't suppose to be fun Dexter. (love flashbacks)
Dunno why Neil Perry says he knows how Laguerta got promoted, obviously that's gonna tip the idea that he read the reports, especially since when he came in before he was talking tech.
If your gonna have sex scenes at least show some nudity geez.
Cool transition with "Make Me Lose Control" playing and Dex drills into the psychologist and then Deb singing the chorus.
Dexter: Circle of Friends (2006)
Dexter: I have a dark side too.
Dex is in deep thought looking over the dead body, Doakes asks, did you get a hard on there Morgan? ;]
Deb wants to run Masuka's prints as the Ice Truck Killer. (hehe)
Dexter: When'd you first notice it, this darkness inside the guy you fell for? Rita: I always knew it was there. I guess I just didn't think I deserved better, 'til I met you. Dexter: I have a dark side too. (Rita laughs) Dexter: What? I do. Rita: Somehow I doubt that. You have a good heart, Dexter. You're not like Paul, you don't hurt people. Dexter: Innocent people. I don't hurt innocent people. (wonderful scene)
Neil Perry: the f*** are you? Dex grins.
Terrific episode.
Dexter: Return to Sender (2006)
Dexter: Rita will be devastated if I'm arrested. Her husband was a crack-head and her boyfriend's a serial killer. Hard not to take that personally.
Masuka is persistent and on his game. Dex: Nice. ;]
Dex says he doesn't care but he really does. He monologues that he shouldn't be there, that Rita will be devastated if she finds out he is a serial killer. He also shouldn't feel guilty for trying to sway Deb off her profile theory and for planting evidence, he has helped Deb get to where she is, and without his help her theories wouldn't even matter. Not that she isn't a hard worker.
The excitement in this episode is a little sapped, perhaps I've seen it too many times and that nothing really eventuates from it. Laguerta and the Cuban boy are quite annoying, they add music for it as well, it is so over the top.
