Die Sturmflut (2006)
They are trying....as is the movie.....unfortunately
Yes I have only seen part 1 so far. But I certainly hope that it will be getting better with the next part. But so far it does a good job on the Sci Fi but fails on a personal level so far.
I know I am supposed to care about who the bride will choose. Should be voting for the poor sailor who didn't have a chance because his letters were hidden. Should care for the people around them...but they make it tough to really care for them with a writing style that would make the daily soap proud. Problems is...I don't like the daily soaps..never did never will. So that all in all the first part was only interesting for the waves getting higher and the waiting for the big ones.
Frankly the Docu that they brought after-wards about the events was a lot more catching and showed how much cheesy the movie paled in comparison to RL
Bulletproof Monk (2003)
Better than I thought!
I have to say that I went into the film with no expectation at all. All I expected was to be entertained for a bit and make me forget Real Life.
And you know what.
In that case the movie fullfilled my expectation. I had fun I laughed I was wondering what would come next.
When I was younger I watched a lot of those fight films like American Ninja. And I still enjoy them today. Some scene had a bit of a Deja Vu but all in all just a good movie.
Chow Yun Fat: Just as great as I expected!
Seann William Scott: I have to say that he suprised me. He was one of the reason that I almost didn't see the movie. You see, so far I have yet not seen him in a film or role that I liked. I would rather visit the dentist than see American Pie. But I like him in that role.
Jaimie King: Great! It is seldom that I see a leading Lady that actually doesn't look like she is only leading because of the scipt. Miss King has a kind of inner strenght that IMHO put her in front of winey creature like Jennifer Garner.
The Plot: My biggest beef is with the Nazi plotline. What the hell are those Nazi doing so far in the east? They had fairly other things to do. But it seems that someone reused Indianer Jones Scripts.
Fazit: If you want to spend a nice afternoon in simply enjoying a movie that I would suggest that one.
Justice League of America (1997)
Painful watch
I saw the film in todays holiday progam. Frankly I have to say that There are few films that I spend with wincing that much.
Everthing was painful. From the trying costumes to the even more trying dialogues. The Interview bits were not even funny or interessting. I have read Justice League Comics. The characters and how they were portrayed reminded me or the same writting and acting quality as a baywatch episode. (And I don't watch those either)
BTW did I mention that the whole film was predictable as hell. Would have been nice to have a single moment that I didn't knew would happen minutes before. She freezing the wave. Tell me me this suprised you.
Miguel Ferrer turning out the way he was ~yawn~ (And I like the actor from Broken Badges)
aso...A waste of time.
