Possibly one of the worst movies ever
15 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This is a bad movie, badly acted, with no story and without rhyme or reason.

First, the attempts to kill the boy and the firefighter helping him (Jolie) or the sheriff make no sense. Suddenly, the killers are bumbling like clowns. Secondly, the fire is in part quite bad CGI. Thirdly the acting is terrible and, in particular, the boy is just looking confused, not scared, not terrified, not distraught, the whole time. Even Jolie does not look credible and she wears lacy bras to go hiking through the forest. Other characters, like the pregnant woman, the sheriff's wife turned Amazon who rides the horse looking for her husband, is just plainly silly. Finally, the story's plot line is based on some critical evidence uncovered by the people who got killed, but we never know what that is, who are the instigators, will it be revealed and believed? Is there even a story we are supposed to see or was it just burned in the giant fire?

Excellent!!

I enjoyed watching this film. The dialogs are excellent, and so is the acting, the picture, as well as the film musical score. Ms. Puccini, the director, really does a great job mixing the story and the flashbacks, and I loved how the characters' personalities are slowly built up throughout the movie, as the four main characters' stories intersect and complement each other. The dialogs are interesting, and the film never has a down moment, and it is truly enjoyable from beginning to end. In fact, it is not just enjoyable and interesting to watch, but this is also a film that can become a topic of discussion and reflection. It is a must see for anybody who cares about new films.

An incredible movie

This is a wonderful movie. Very funny, intelligent, and a sophisticated humour. The scene of Inspector Juve with the three arms is just hilarious. Both the series of "The Pink Panther" (Peter Sellers) or Austin Powers probably were inspired by this wonderful movie and the other Fantomas movies in the 3-movie series. It is a must see.

Pinocchio (2002)

A wonderful movie
27 January 2004
This is a magical movie. In my opinion, those who criticise it did not quite understand it. Almost Fellinian, the story was very well rendered, with an added touch of poetry. How can anybody focus on the fact that Benigni is not a child, like if that was the point of the story? It is like saying "I don't like poetry because they use images to say a story, rather than saying the story clearly and explicitly". Maybe there are too many people that think the really great movies are the ones from the "Lord of the Rings" series, or similar. If those are your movies, don't watch Pinocchio. But if you are a touch more refined in your taste, go for it.

A great movie.

This is one great movie, one that Disney or any other US producer would never make. It teaches about the importance of real values, like friendship, and against hypocrisy. It teaches the value of learning to spend the time with people we love, enjoy life, and in general lead it rather than being lead by who wants to impose on us what is right and wrong. Try everything to get your hands on a copy (they do have a DVD with English track), and watch it if you can.
