She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (2022)
Worst from Marvel
Being a hardcore Marvel Fan, I deliberately watched this torture till the 8th episode - while praying, hoping, and truly expecting that Marvel will cover for all this crap in the season finale. But to my extreme disappointment, the last episode was the "worst thing one would have ever seen in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe to date". All the Superheroes who appear in the series are nothing but a joke. There is literally no thrill or mystery moment even once. And, the sad part is that this sitcom is so dumb that I can't even categorize it as a fun comedy or call it kids' content. I'll try to forget this web series, assuming it to be a terrible dream! I am rating it 1, as I couldn't rate it in minus.
Downsizing (2017)
A total let-down, even with such a powerful concept
Watched this movie with great anticipation after looking at the trailer, but apart from the 'downsizing' sci-fi part, there is literally NOTHING that this movie offers. I am not sure what the director had in mind, but with such a powerful concept, a lot of pros & cons could have been explored as sub-plots and twists.
Sorry to say but, but this movie is a total let-down. Giving 3* just for the 'downsizing' angle, which you can enjoy from the trailer itself - So, summary is, I would not suggest wasting time on this one!
Out of Time (2021)
Partially copied from Hollywood. Well made but...
The movie's core plot (time concept) is directly copied from Hollywood movie 'Triangle'. I really appreciate the director for making a good sci-fi movie on 'time' concept - Though the movie has a definitive start and and definitive (not open ended) climax, it left a lot of questions unanswered - For which I've cut 3 marks - Otherwise the movie is definitely one time watch!
Chutney (2016)
One of the best shorts from India
Chutney is one of the best shorts I have watched in recent times, that has come out of India. Apart from great acting by all actors/actresses, it the story-telling that is the USP of this awesome short film. For those who don't know what 'Chutney' is: It a condiment of Indian origin; made by mixing coriander, lemon, ginger, chili with vinegar, spices, sugar, salt; that is a mix of spicy, sweet, sour tastes. The movie starts with a topic that has been shown/used in hundreds of films till now, but as the movie progresses, you are being served a chutney of sweet spicy sour twists, which takes that ordinary-topic to a altogether new high. This movie uses following modes of story-telling that makes it a great must-watch film: (1) Multi-layered narration: Every statement that is spoken has multiple meanings (2) Multi-storied narration: Multiple partially-related parallel stories run along with the main story (3) Cyclic narration: Everything said or shown is connected deeply to each other. Watch & Enjoy!
