Batman: Dead End (2003)
True Dark Knight Moments
This movie is so great. The dialogue between Batman and The Joker kicks ass. It reminds me of Jeph Loeb and Frank Miller's work. Stunning. The fight is pretty cool, you know, Bats is strong and he just need one punch at the time. Arnold-style, not Bruce Lee type of thing. KICKS ASS. The twist in the middle is a fun thing, but it would be a better movie if it stick to the Comic Book Way.
SPOLIER: In the middle of the movie, suddenly The Joker gets grabbed by Ridley Scott's Alien and the creature start fighting our dark knight. Then McTiernan's Predator comes in to the picture and he starts kicking ass.
Great stuff. I can't wait for Sandy's next movie. It MUST be full length. 8/10
Ondskan (2003)
Expected more, but okay.
It has been in talks to do this movie for a long time and here's the result. Mikael Håfström's version follows the book pretty exact, the fans will be pleased. But the fast feeling of a movie is lost a couple of times as the time goes by. The best in the movie is Gustaf Skarsgård, just perfect as the sadistic student Silverhielm, and the fighting sequences. So brutal, bloody and pretty realistic, the 11 Year Old rating is strange, it should have been from 15 instead. Any way 7/10 nothing special. See it though. I love the book, I like the film.
Gangstaz n Cash (1996)
A taste of Besson + Tarantino ála "The Big Hit"
The story is simple: A guy in Örebro (a town in Sweden) comes over a bag full of money that belongs to the Italian Mob. He gets hunted and we see the story in different flashbacks when the lead character tells his friend the whole day. Lots of funny lines, action sequences, and just great entertainment. Josef Fares´ directing is superb and he goes in a hard rock and roll style, the action sequences reminds me of Luc Besson´s "Taxi". Real BAAD action though, but that´s just one part of the charm.
Band of Brothers (2001)
Hurray for the Screaming Eagles...
The most realistic war-movie ever done. Sure, "Saving Private Ryan" is very good, but this is even better. All the characters, places, events...DAMN GOOD!!! And also, every episode "is" someones. Like, EPISODE 6 is the Medics episod, EPISODE 2 is D-Days episode, and so on...
*****/5
Evil Dead II (1987)
"Who´s laughing now, huh!?"
This is great! After a month of fighting to see this movie I have now done that. And the movie is great. This sequel is more like an "Evil Dead I with a new budget". Because it's almost the same things that happends all the time, but now it is done with much better effects. And come on; who can't resist to laugh in the scene when Ash gets a lot of whopass from his own hand (!!)... and also when he saw it off with the infamous CHAINSAW.
A very good movie actually, I'm just dying to see the third one (Army of Darkness). I like it very much and give it 9 of 10.
