Totally inaccurate and boring
20 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
If I am the representative for a superintelligent species, I wouldn't land to a distant planet and waiting for their primitive scientists to crack my code for communications. I would solve thiers and simply send message to them on thier language.

I would also know that their biggest dilemma is that we are enemies or friends - of course we are friends, no intelligent species would travel accross the univers to kill lives, while they know how precious it is -- they are intelligent, remember? So the first message should be an old fashioned empty hands up, showing no signs of threat.

A super-advanced species need to be able to build ships and communication systems, sensors, radars, etc. How in hell would a levitating octopus-like blob build anything? (Moving objects with minds? Oh, what an evolution that would be. Haha.)

Jeremy Renner is totally useless and unnecessary in this movie. He doe nothing notable, he's lines are totally weightless.

Amy Adams plays well, but her character and the way he makes it throgh the movie isn't better then an average investigation in an average crime series episode.

The story thies to be tense, but is is just boring. Some good tricks and ideas show up, but no more than you see in any mid-class scifi.

So overall there's is nothing in this movie why we should watch this, and I am very sad, tha it's above 2* on imdb, meaning people don't have any idea about the thing I mentioned above, or they simply don't care about it.

Lame, boring, cheap
18 November 2021
A waste of time, not even a real robot-movie, just slow toylike robots walking and staring with stupid faces. Nothing in this movie makes sense and I can no remember a single scene that worth mentioning. I love Banderas, but he couldn't make it with this script, though there wasn't really much that requires acting. I was really upset at the end, wasting my time for such a cheap and terrible movie promising so much with the trailer and posters. Avoid it.

boring. pointless. incorrect.
20 February 2010
1. nothing measurable happens in the whole movie. i was waiting and waiting for something to happen, something that pushes the story somewhere, but nothing but pointless and amateur scenes one after another.

2. I like Seth Rogen. Good actor. But his character in this movie is an aggressive, sociopath, depressive grown up child who needs serial medical attention. it's not funny, it's scary and an incorrect atrocity.

3. the characters of the blond bitch and the detective, and all others are annoying and not a bit funny.

overall don't watch it! save the time for yourself. watch pineapple express once more instead. I can't imagine when the making teem watched it and said: "well done boys, we made a funny movie. I was laughing' as hell again. I'm sure it will be a success." (???)

Just perfect.
29 December 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Why I say that? Let's see:

First the story was simple. No big twists, no million story-lines, no needless happenings. No too much love and no incompetent characters. No cool heroes, no bitch-like girls for show. And no airy, flippant characters for bringing boring jokes and making the movie awkward.

Second the CGI is masterful and it is through the entire movie not just for some big scenes. From the first leaf to the last water drop, all exist. When a plane crashing to the trees, when the birds flying over the water, it really happens, you don't feel it's just CGI. Amazing.

The clichés? Well, there are elements in the movie we already saw in other movies, but who cares? We already saw Titanic before Cameron's version, and we saw movies about prisoners before Shawshank Redemption. If somebody shots a good photo of a sunset, nobody should shot sunsets ever more? I don't care about clichés when they are in perfect balance with the other components of the movie.

Overall, this movie is well balanced with good characters, a unique CGI and unique way it brings the well known message about protecting your environment. (10 is for perfect not just excellent.)

The ultimate Twinkies commercial
10 November 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Overall it is worth to watch once, because on the special effect and well done slow motion beats and falls. Shots really hit, and bodies fall hard. Characters are good, Harrelson is excellent as always, whatever he plays.

Poens are well known from films we saw, except a few, but 2-3 good laugh not what I expect for a one and a half hour long comedy. Some scenes are expressly boring or deja-vus.

The worst what made me completely get far from the experience of seeing a movie is the smell of commercial. Maybe only I don't get it, because I am not American, but I saw a lot of Twinkies and one big BM commercial. Don't misunderstand me, I am really a fan of Mr. M. But I don't understand what is he doing in this movie. What that scene is all about? Is it a commercial for him (he doesn't need it) of a kind of monument? Anyway, the rules the film says are good for our everyday lives to not get zombies, if you know what I mean. But the packing is a half-success.

They have me on.
3 July 2009
Warning: Spoilers
The good (not excellent) first part and the hard marketing campaign for the second one made me watch this. And I was very very disappointed. I loved all the popcorn movies Mr. Bay made. Good ambiances, good characters, simple stories with some small nice twist, no useless by-plays, not too much romantic moments, hard tempo and lots of cool car chase and blow ups. All I need for my money in the cinema.

But now, I did not have it. No good characters or just clichés. Blow-ups overloaded and make no point in the scene. Robots and they talk became childish and flippant. A terminator mixed in with no story or explanation. Old robots have beard or the giant demolition robot with huge balls are really makes an exhibition of itself.

I won't make any comment on Megan Fox, because she just absolutely unnecessary in both TF movies.

I just wondering why. Why can't they make it a bit more serious. (There are giant robot fighters with deadly weapons or just toys?) Well written and composed action scenes and dialogs. Good characters. Less but well balanced and deliberate blow-ups and robot fights, like the one in the woods. That was the only good part in the movie.

So don't think we stupid, and all we need is shiny cars, women, and great booms. No. We need something like Armageddon, Die Hard, Dark Knight, Terminator 2, Matrix. Transformers 2 is only fun for children.

Revenge is coming: boycott.

Good act, bad music.
26 June 2009
Johnny Depp can't be wrong, always good to watch his play! Pleasant surprise the cameo of S. B. Cohen! (He's about to get in the line of the greatest comedians, slowly.) H. B. Carter is perfect for her role, she brings what we expect.

I'm a great fan of Tim Burton's films. The atmosphere he can create always amaze me. Now it wasn't different watching Sweeney Todd. Mr. Burton brings his style. The story and the mood of the film are excellent. The tempo and the switching between comedy and thriller are well balanced.

The weak point is the music, and for a musical this takes the half of success. That's why this movie is just a middle class in its category. The melodies aren't nesting to mind, the voices aren't commanding. If you ever saw one of sir A. L. Webber's musicals you know what I mean.
