Bipolar (2014)
Worth watching if only for Andrew Howard's LSD scene
I must admit that this film didn't really so do much for me until the end when Dr Leonard (Andrew Howard) was made to consume a large amount LSD. That was probably the only reason I am writing a review. Don't get me wrong, the film wasn't at all bad but it could have been better. I've seen a few films with Andrew Howard in and he usually plays a villain or a lunatic. Think he's yet another underrated actor and look forward to seeing him in other films. The rest of the acting was mediocre, especially from the lead character who I've not seen before. All in all, not a bad film and worth a watch. I'd actually give this a 6.2/10.
A Field in England (2013)
Medieval Moments captured in this low budget Brit flick
This might not be every ones cup of tea. I had no expectations as I'd never heard of it till a few weeks ago. This low budget UK film has something about it that I can't quite put my finger on.I had to keep jumping back a scene just to try & figure out what was going on. With Julian Barratt from The Mighty Boosh making a guest appearance in the 1st scene I was drawn in, even though his part in the film was brief. For me this film was easy on the eye and worth watching if you are yearning to watch something different. IMDb class this as a horror but I didn't see anything to label it as a horror flick. More like an 17th .century drama. Though filmed in black and white only adds to the realism of this medieval based depiction of three 17th century men searching for something & I still don't know what. Great costume drama.that portrays an event that may or may not have happened in a field in England Not a fan of costume dramas I make an exception. 6/10
The Taking (2013)
Dark & Unsettling & Trippy
One Dark film. Evil abstract & artsy piece of work. The whole film I found unsettling to watch especially with the deep satanic voice that runs through out the film. Though it didn't receive good ratings I found the film interesting and found myself watching it again. Fans of films like "The Begotten" & "Eraser Head" will enjoy this dark sinister piece of film work. This film is not a popcorn & candy floss film. Gloomy and condemning. I look forward to seeing what's coming next from both Lydelle Jackson & Cezil Reed. Menacing, not one for the ladies. If you watched a lot if film as I have you'll find this a interesting watch.
