I Know Who Killed Me (2007)
I tried, I really did.
I honestly had no intention of ever seeing this movie. Firstly, I'm not a fan of LH, the only film she actually manages to ACT in is Prairie Home Companion, but I don't have any prejudice against her, either. Secondly, I listened to the critics, which is something I never normally do but the reviews were so universally scathing that I couldn't ignore them.
Unfortunately the critics were right.
This movie defies all known parameters of logic: A baby sold in a hospital by her crack addled mother and taken from her twin sister at birth; twin knows of other's existence despite never having met her; victim figures out who the killer is despite absolutely no evidence pointing in his direction; etc, etc. I could go on but I won't.
The direction is wooden; the acting more so, and the art direction is clichéd to the point of sleep inducing.
Personally, I have no idea how anyone could like this movie. But I guess it's a case of different strokes for different folks.

Case 39 (2009)
Meh
This is by far not a good movie, neither is it wholly bad. It sits in the nether region of "meh-ness", the movie equivalent of gray, or even porridge.
There are acceptable performances from most of the cast but the film is hardly a harbinger of the up coming Oscars. Renee Z as a scream goddess? Nope, not even close and I would probably avoid another "horror" film with her in it, she's just not believable, it's almost like watching Betty White as a homicidal axe wielding maniac.
Clichéd and predictable all the way through it none-the-less throws up a few scares and unintentional laughs making it an OK way to waste 90 minutes of your life, but don't expect to any sleepless nights or waking nightmares afterwards.
Ghost Month (2009)
Awful!
I'm sorry folks, but I only just managed to sit through 55 minutes of this turd of a movie.
Leaden direction, poor editing, wooden acting and pretty much zero thrills or scares. The storyline, if you can call it that, is so full of holes it would make Swiss Cheese hang its head in shame.
I'm not into gore, I much prefer psychological thriller/horror type movies so I thought that I'd enjoy this, turned out to be a total waste of 55 minutes of my life!
If you're looking for a somewhat original and well executed North American "J" style horror then check out the Canadian film "They Wait". It's pretty good and well worth the rental fee.
The Incredible Hulk (2008)
Hmmmmmm
I know I'm probably in the minority but I much preferred Ang Lee's "Hulk" to this meandering mess.
Firstly, I found Lee's version to be much more akin to the comic books and the cartoon-ish framing and appearance of the Hulk really played well.
Alternatively, this version has some serious flaws. The first major one is the casting of Ed Norton. I consider myself a fan of EN's but in this film he seems too effeminate and not intellectual enough. Bill Bixby had a much better command of the internal conflict that Banner must have been experiencing. In contrast, Norton's interpretation seems flat with little or no emotion until he morphs into The Hulk.
The second major flaw is with Liv Tyler. I'm sorry, I have personal fantasies about this woman and to cast her in such a frumpy role really degrades her presence. She seems to emerge as more of herself in the latter scenes but initially she is truly horrid to watch. And this from the woman who will one day carry my babies ;-) It's not a bad movie. In fact, if Ang Lee's version didn't exist it would be quite good. But, alas, it doesn't compare well enough for me to give it more that 4 stars out of ten.
OK, now with the flaming!!! ;-)
