Sky Sharks (2020)
Not Enough Nudity
Okay, so it's worth 3.5 / 10 rating, probably, in that the actors all spoke clearly enough to be heard, the script was probably printed ahead of time on paper, no mike booms were visible, and generally the lighting was good enough to see what was happening, most of the time.
My complaint is, there's not NEARLY enough nudity in this picture. I think movies of this ilk could be vastly improved by having just about everyone onscreen do the same performance as before, except naked. They shouldn't acknowledge the nudity, either. They should just do the scene as-is, completely starkers.
This would greatly improve the viewability in that at least the people waiting for nudity will have it, and those interested in the eye candy of the actresses will be able to have their interests met.
100 Million BC (2008)
I've seen worse, but not many
* good to see the father from family ties still is an actor; * unfortunately no tits and ass; * special effects are ... quite weak; * dialogue not tremendously insightful, just moves plot; * way too many unrealistic things to get past; * most of actors did best with what they had; * tried to do interesting things, but they really had two movies that were poorly combined. * I watched on 2x forward (my player lets me actually understand the dialogue) and still felt they took too long in places; * liked the ideas of dangerous things in the past they used; * Low budget, this really is a 2 star movie. * I suspect this will show up on sci-fi channel eventually but it's not worth the time it takes unless you can show on fast forward.
District 9 (2009)
Fantastic Movie
Best science fiction movie I've seen in a long, long, long time. Has all elements of classic sci-fi. The ethical issues brought up are wonderfully laid out, in clear reference to South Africa's history. I congratulate the writers for making a movie that can be complex and approachable at the same time; a sci-fi flick that doesn't follow formulas and yet has what it takes to succeed.
Has great character development, showing growth and dawning understanding in a way that is believable and real-life like an everyman / everywoman would.
Absolutely 10 out of 10.
