Bullet Head (2017)
Please disregard the negative reviews and watch this awesome movie!
OK, I watch lots of movies, but rarely - maybe once or twice so far - come here and write about them, but when I saw all those negative reviews I felt compelled because this is one of the most touching and clever movies I've watched in recent years. Hollywood has only been producing shit and finding a good movie is almost one in a million and this is one of them. I don't wanna give any spoilers, so I'll write carefully, but first I have to mention the things people said about animal brutality. Yes, there are times I've cried, I had a napkin at hand but mainly because I love animals more than humans, so I can never hold my tears whenever there's cruelty against animals. But, people are the ones doing the cruelty! People are cruel, doing all those horrible things to the animals and this movie is showing this ugly side of humans! Most people are unaware of those terrible, disgusting, inhumane dog fights that people go and play bets on, have fun watching those dogs kill off each other, this is so damn wrong and sick but that is a fact. Dog fights are all around the world and people are making huge money off of them. This movie shows the incredibly beautiful bond between man and an animal (a dog in this case).
Finally, what I understood from those reviews is that you have to have an elevated / evolved soul to understand the beauty and truth of this film and those people lack it. Give the CGI and porno filled crap - which makes 95% of Hollywood anyway.
High-Rise (2015)
Afwul
This is one of the worst movies I've ever watched. And I watch A LOT. But, this one definitely shocked me so much so that I cannot find the right words to describe it. Well, I can if I want to but I don't want to waste any more time on this garbage as I've already wasted enough time watching it.
The Blacklist: The Front (No. 74) (2014)
Just one word: Inferno (by Dan Brown)
No need to write on and on over a single episode, esp. this one because everything is the same as Dan Brown's Inferno - so much so that I think they should have put his name as the main writer of this episode. And, as for my rating, I gave it a 1 because there are a zillion movies/series with this plague thing, a deadly virus killing millions of people. Nothing new. Repetition.
A Dog Year (2009)
Excellent movie about man and dog relationship.
First off all, I loved this movie. It is just so hard to come by a decent movie in the past few years because almost all of them are filled with sex, violence, killing, drugs, etc. all that corruptness. Movies like this are one in a million among all that crap. So, that is one thing. Then, as an animal lover, this movie won my heart right away. If you have a pet or pets, you know how special a bond there is between you and them. It is love at its purest form and I don't believe it can be achieved between two humans. Jeff Bridges is brilliant as always and he plays a somewhat troubled man, having a writer's block and on a time-out from his wife and daughter. He already has two dogs but then this dog - Devon - enters his life but Devon is an abused dog, so he (Jeff Bridges) has trouble for a long time trying to live with him but he doesn't give up on this dog, he doesn't abandon him. Same rule applies if you wanna get along with an animal or a human: What's important is understanding and accepting each other, instead of forcing your wants and always going "my way". Or, this is me, sorry. No, we gotta learn to bend a little without losing our own identities. And finally, you can watch this one with your kids as there are no sex, violence drugs, etc.
MacGruber (2010)
Endured it just because of my love and respect for Val Kilmer
OK, as a loooooong time devoted Val Kilmer fan, I watch everything he does. He is a super talented actor and an artist but as he is a very eccentric person, the movies he chooses to play in are always a surprise. And this one is a complete flop. Yes, there are good actors in it other then Mr. Kilmer - but definitely except the one who plays MacGruber, Will Forte. There was something "off" with him. And then there are the boring jokes, nothing new, nothing funny... Like I said, I watched it because of Val Kilmer otherwise it's a very dumb movie with lots of boring, filled with been-used-a-zillion-times-before kind of jokes.
