Heckler (2007)
How can you be a movie critic if you haven't filmed any movie in your life?
Documentary against hecklers and critics... and maybe even guy who has an opinion... the next three questions were in the movie, so i'll try to give my opinion...
1. How can you be a movie critic if you haven't filmed any movie in your life? - WTF!? Guys, this is the lamest and dumbest excuse ever! I haven't been president nor politician so far, but it doesn't mean that I can't criticize them or their work.
2. Everybody has an opinion about everything today... - Of course, is it wrong to have an opinion? A lot of comedians also have some kind of social criticism in their act. Is it me, or is this exactly the same opinion that we talk about?
3. We don't have thick skin, we also have feelings... - Yeah, humans usually have feelings, but you shouldn't feel bad and sad if some low life loser/nerd/idiot or how else you call them, wrote or said something offending to you or about you. You should work on your self-esteem. If you're more popular, more people will talk about you, and not all talk is cool. Get used to it. It's the price you have to pay.
I don't consider myself heckler, nor critic, not even basher of anybody's work, but this documentary and people in it are really asking for it. Folks, get used to it, it's part of life and especially part of entertainment, stop bitching about it so much.
Burn After Reading (2008)
Classical work by Coen brothers
It's always entertaining to watch Coen's movies. They are probably the ones of few directors who can capture the thing that is called human nature, which means to me that you can easily connect with the characters and situations. And I'm seduced by that gift.
The acting was more/less great, with few step-outs and over-the-top mistakes, but it didn't ruined the experience.
I don't want to start describing the plot cause there's no need to. I'll just say that this is classical Coens... everything, plot, situations, reactions, vibe, characters, ending... or should I say another look in another awkwardness in another life, just another told story.
You know how sometimes things can get complicated, right? Sometimes you find yourself in unknown territory or larger than yourself situation led there by your pure stupidity or maybe, innocent flow. And how do you end that? It depends... see for yourself how this one ends. Another 90 minutes of Coen's entertainment.
The Happening (2008)
Weird... really weird... maybe not that much...
I usually don't watch movie trailers, but I saw the trailer for this one few months ago, and was looking forward to see it. It seemed like some weird episode of "The X Files". To bad, the movie turned out to be some kind of a crappy, weird, and maybe, advertising, video. It really seemed to me like SF ecological documentary. Lines in the movie are cheesy, acting is silly, plot is hmmm??? I really don't know how to describe it... strange, weird, confusing... but I liked picture, or to say, landscape and colors.
In one sentence, good intro, strange and unbuilded plot, there is no conclusion at the end... you won't miss a goddamn thing if you decide to skip it... it just lies there in the sea of unimportance cause, to be honest, anybody could make it. I just can get away from idea that it's advertisement. I won't say better luck next time, cause even if you didn't make an impression, you still made over 150 millions on movie about nothing special Mr. Shyamalan, dude.
