It was...weird.
11 December 2009
Warning: Spoilers
I am really out of words after seeing this movie. I really don't know what to write. When I read the plot saying that a boy has troubles dealing with his best-friend, since he is very attracted to him, I was expecting something like a drama/romance with a love story of him getting hurt; you know, same old, same old. But my god, was I surprised. You never see him cry, nor get hurt. You just see him create a ghost of his best-friend. He sort of "raises" that ghost, until his friend comes and takes it. What the hell? You also see his father (who is dead) stabbing some sort of things into his friends and his mother's date, which allows him to control them. However, they have no wound (even though you see blood).

Well, I'm already lost in whatever is that I wrote. What I want to underline is that these types of "surrealness" do not work in a romance/drama. There was no drama, no romance. All the "surrealness" made it all disappear. I was expecting something completely different.

Now the movie itself was very entertaining, it just wasn't what I expected.

Plot: 6/10 - The movie forgets about the main part of the plot: the serious attraction. It is very confusing, yet very entertaining and unpredictable.

Acting: 10/10 - Excellent, gorgeous acting. Every character has its characteristics and you identify each one for those thanks to the great acting. Well done.

I can't rate this movie more than 7 since the plot is something really important in a movie, even though it contains excellent acting.

My opinion is 7.4/10

Wow, Beautiful.
8 December 2009
Boy, am I glad I was able to see this movie.

The movie is about a young gay artist haunted by a tragedy during high-school. I won't go very deep about the story, but basically he fell in love with another boy during high-school and it didn't go very well. And believe me, not by the most common reasons. The story is really beautiful. Not having many characters, you get to know the 2 main characters very well and on the "crucial" moments it really gets into your heart. Except for Carter's coach, this movie has fabulous, gorgeous, amazing acting. You see the expression of anger in Darrien's face, when's angry, the heart-felt tears, when he cries, and the sensitive smile when his with either his mother, his best-friend and of course, Carter.

Plot: 8/10 - The reason why they met (and why carter lives with Darrien for a few month) isn't very «believable» but a beautiful romance develops as the movie goes on and grows on you.

Acting: 9.5/10 - Excellent actors. Well done.

Flaws: You never get to understand what are Darrien's mother and carter's father to each other. The movie is not very clear in terms of time. It seems as if only a few days have passed during the whole movie, but almost one year passed. (I think)

Personal Desire: I wish they could have developed a little more the relationship between Darrien and his mother. They could have made some touching scenes, since they were both great actors.

I'm glad it's not underrated, but having only 17 votes.... I suppose... not many people have seen it? Well, those people don't know what they're missing.

The Blackout (2009)
3/10
The plot of this movie must have been written during a Blackout..
8 November 2009
Warning: Spoilers
This has got to be one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The movie is about some people trapped on a building, after a major blackout. It seems that it was caused by some weird monsters that were also inside the building. It's going to be hard to review this movie, since even after seeing I know nothing about it.

For starters, there is absolutely no plot. Just some people having a party. You barely get to know the characters name's, You don't know who the monsters are, where they came from, nothing. The acting is also terrible. The special effects aren't bad but are nothing special either. As the movie progresses you get the idea that the characters are paid just to die. Whenever a monster comes they just stand there, watching. Also, why wouldn't they try to exit the building? The elevators were off due to the power cut, but what about the stairs?

One major "goof" that I recall from the movie is when they go to the basement looking for their kids(Ashley and Kyle). The oldest brother spots a shoe and starts moaning and the mother comes running. He doesn't let her see whatever was on the floor, yet she starts crying "Poor Kyle". How did she know it was her son and not her daughter? It could have been both too. Another one is Ashley being in the elevator, in the end. She was trapped in the basement but in the end of the movie, she appears trapped in the elevator, some floors above. How did she get there? There are some terrible movies that are entertaining, so the overall isn't as bad as it should be, but this one..

Plot: 1/10

Acting: 3/10

Sound: 6/10

Special effects: 5/10

Overall: 3

Low cost movie...
30 January 2009
I must admit that I saw this, because I heard Doherty was playing the main role (if there is one..). I love her movies Since Charmed.

Anyways, this movie is so predictable, you'll think you were the one who produced it.

The monster/god (or so they say...) is way too animated. But it's not just that. There's a scene in which a man is killed and you can clearly see that a red ink bucket or something in that style was thrown at the wall. The costumes and the actors also look too goofy. They don't exactly look or sound like some scientists/miners whatever.

I also think they rushed a little TOO MUCH at the end. Things with no sense started to happen, so they could put an end to it.

I think they wasted Doherty's talent in a weak, predictable movie.

Also, it's always the same story. Scientists getting lost, miners dying...

If you are a Doherty fun like me, then you'll probably make it to the end.

Not as bad as they say!
25 January 2009
When I first bought this movie, one thing that I couldn't stop thinking was its name! "Amusement" .. Strange name for a horror movie, don't you think? Well anyways, as I expected it's a movie with little story or no story at all. All that I could understand is that the 3 women were once close friends, and they hated a boy's project. That boy now stalks then. Although it might sound awful, it sure scared me a lot. If you're afraid of big rusty clowns like me, you're gonna cry to death for at least 10 minutes.

In general, it had its scary parts and it was entertaining to watch. When I watch a horror movie, I expect to get scared, and I did. What else would I want?

Well Made!!
29 December 2008
When I first heard about this movie, I thought it was going to be a total mess...but guess what? It's really great! Unlike many gay movies, this one has a story. You can see how the characters change from the beginning to the end. They managed to create funny situations related to gay interest, but, including 4 love stories that will catch your attention during the whole movie. The result is a funny movie, with and interesting story! Of course not everything in life is roses. There was an aspect that I didn't quite like; The environment! The movie was made as if being gay was the nicest and most accepted thing in the world.

Friendly Advice: If you liked this one, then you'll love Eating out 1 and 2.

Not as good as the first one!
29 December 2008
Okay. This one is much worst than the first one.

Of course they couldn't make it as good as the first one...but still..

The first thing that I disliked at first sight, was the actor change. I mean the title says it "the sequel", but of all the 4 boys, just one is the same. Although one of the new guys is similar to the previous, all the others are much different, and they are not so good. I mean it. They are terrible.

The story itself isn't that bad. But there's not that passion from the first one that would make you cry; side perhaps from the mermaid.

I really don't recommend this movie for the folks that saw the first one. It's really disappointing. It still has some funny stuff...but....
