Patty Hearst (1988)
comment on FAQ commentary
To the commentator of FAQ:
Did you know that it may not be an anachronism for a 1975 car to be in a movie made for 1974 because you did not know that when the companies make the vehicles they make them 6 months before they send it out, they put the date as of that year that they come out. In other words, a vehicle is 1st manufactured in 6/1974-12/1974, but the company always would call it a 1975 model. Then, they make it from 1/1975-6/1975, and also gets the year model of 1975. I found that out a long time ago, 15-20 years ago. They do that every year. Therefore, it would not be an anachronism for a 1975 model to be given to a movie company for a 1974 movie.
Little House on the Prairie (1974)
Big Time Trivia Correction
The character of Adam Kendall, who was Mary's husband, was not blinded while studying law!! Adam was blinded as a child following a traumatic accident receiving a concussion, aka, a bump to the head. In the episode, which happens to be on right now, To See the Light, it was stated in both parts 1 & 2, that he lost his sight as a child, (they just stated it again now). He regained his eyesight as an adult following an accident where he received another concussion, in Part 1. Later on, he wandered into the local courthouse, listened to law cases, and got interested in becoming a lawyer. He did get very sick while trying to take the law school entrance examinations. This whole TV series was done very well. Tho' if you watch long enough & see the details, you will notice other trivia that is incorrect. There is always something to learn or re-learn in these wonderful shows.
Sister Act (1992)
Chicago? Where in the world did you get that idea?
Can you believe it? Someone writes and comments about a place and does not even know the place!!! LOL! Deloris is not sent to Chicago! Why would the policeman send her to a place so far away when there is a place close by to go to? I don't know where the last commentator got his/her info, because it is not what the policeman said. It is San Francisco, CA! It is close to Las Vegas,NV,in that it does not take very long to fly there from 'Vegas.' The church is known as 'Old' Saint Mary's Cathedral, its real name. Its address is 660 California Street, San Francisco, CA, 94108, phone: 415-288-3800. I know it is because I grew up in the San Francisco-Bay Area, lived there for most of my life. I had a cousin get married in that Catholic church, we all attended. I have passed it several times when I have visited San Francisco, aka 'The City.' I loved watching this movie because it is nice to see a familiar place in a Hollywood movie. It makes you feel at home! Smile! It would be neat if they would always play Sister Act 2, after Sister Act 1.
Bonanza: Blessed Are They (1962)
Where Can You Go for Instructions for Life's Problems?
The feud between the Mahans and the Clarkes had been going on for quite some time. Now it has started to effect the whole town. How did this feud begin? Will it ever end? A son from one family married a daughter of the other family before it all began. They had twins: one girl and one boy. Why does this feud affect the whole town if they are not in these two families? The townspeople asked Ben Cartwright to help negotiate a settlement of the feud. Can he negotiate the feud? The 'new' minister arrives. Will Ben go to the new minister for the answers? The parents of the twins die. How will this tragedy effect the two families? How would you decide to settle problems? Can you solve these problems? Our problems with other people do affect the town in which we live, as they do affect the state, country, and the world. Is there a place to go for instructions in life, especially, to find answers to the difficulties of life? Yes, there is: The Holy Bible. When we spend time in reading and studying the Bible daily and reading it completely through once each year, we will learn the ways of God and how He has given us the examples or the principles to base our daily and life decisions upon. Will the division of the twins, one to each family like King Solomon negotiated for the living baby in the Old Testament, be the correct answer in the rearing of the twins?
