The legendary fighting game finally came into live action movie! As a fans of the game, I felt that I have to watch this movie despite bad reviews by other IMDb users.

They're right. The story was so awful? yes. The movie looks cheap? yes. The characters had very different personality compared to the game? yes. Nina is too horny? yes.

The fighting scenes isn't too bad, at least. Much better that that Dragon Ball Evolution. It's still enjoyable, with fast-paced background music. But the fights took place on very badly decorated arena.

Of course, there were many stupid things in this movie. When Jin was attacked inside his room, Christie Monteiro can't even break the door by force! She has to break the window with something nearby, and then open the door using handle? What a lame way! These first class fighters are supposed to have great power in their muscle.

The characters didn't perform their signature moves on the game. Where's that dragon uppercut used by the Mishimas (including Jin)? I didn't expect that the fighters will emit lightning, fire, etc from their body like that in the game, but at least please use their original moves in the game.

This movie will disappoint you, either you're fans of the game or not.

I first read the Elfen Lied manga and admit it was very good. It is sad that this anime version is worse. The storyline is a bit too fast and new characters come in too frequently. This is what you can get if you try to pack 105 chapters of manga into 13 episodes of anime.

The ending is a little bit disappointed. Lucy could easily escape from the army, or simply slaughter them like she did before.

The theme song,"Lilium" is great and touching, but I got slightly bored after heard it on almost every scene on the movie. I wonder whether this anime was produced under very limited budget.

After all, the story and characters is great. It contains lots of humanity values, mixing of love, hate, trust and betrayal. Better than Hollywood's superhero movies nowadays. But if you want the full, better story, go grab the manga instead.

------ SPOILER ALERT ---- Huge promotion invited me to watch this movie. Press said that this movie has gone into several international movie festivals. But after I watch it, I just found a 2 hour-length of soap opera.

The story is very simple yet forced to stretch into 2 hours; you can even predict the ending by just watching its first 30 minutes. Okay, the story can be sum into 4 short sentences: Luna and Farel is a happy young couple. Luna has an incurable disease led herself to death. And we've Rachel, a childhood friend of Farel who loves him but she never got his attention. Rachel then decided to give his liver to Luna because she loves Farel. That's it. Plain and cheap story huh? The environment setting is seems to be far from reality. We've got only 3 characters in this movie. Not more. You can find typical characters from Indonesian soap opera here: prosperous people, without need to work for life. All in their mind is love.

The acting is bad, seems that the actors were chosen by just judging from their nice face. Don't waste your money buying the DVD. But it's OK if you watch this free on TV.
