Paper Man (2009)
Amazing setting
Seriously from the start I noticed the director capturing winter and very precisely up to the end. This movie was a very good feeling movie with a great message as well. It starts out as a cliché with the writer going into isolation to write his book but he brings his imaginary friend along Captain Excellence or Excellent can't quite remember, and does not write a single word. The captain is very amusing at times, but anyways Jeff Danial's character runs into Abby (Emma Stone) who also has an imaginary friend. The two are both friendless in a way and begin to develop an odd relationship that to some may seem odd at first but as the film goes on it gets better, except the end. The end was well you will have to watch an see, upsetting in a way because I wanted it to go a different way but instead it went in another direction one more sad per say. I would have to recommend everyone to watch this film it was very emotional and fun at the same time, from me, a person who doesn't like too emotional movies. Only chose to watch it because I saw Jeff Danial's in the credits, it's a sad thing this movie is so under rated/viewed. This is one of those movies you'll always remember, I know I will.
Dead Awake (2010)
Greatness
This movie was really good and I'm not to sure why it got so many bad reviews. This movie made me think of "After.Life" but I am not sure why maybe because the eeriness that was in both of them? Just the feel of it I suppose. Anyways it is about a man who has gone through a tragedy and then somehow when he fakes his death the person who caused the tragedy somehow lives through it and gets to make amends. Doing so the whole movie leads you through twists and turns and leaves clues of the ending throughout, I knew what was going on. Boy gets girl the dead passes on after amends, kind of like the usual but written differently and uniquely. On a side note at times I felt it was awfully slow and could have been written better to pick up speed and get you into it more. I am no one to judge though. Overall the movie was really good predictable or not, worth a watch.
