Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (2009)
Needs more Darth Vader...
This movie was Average, a flat 6 out of 10. Its not the worst movie I've seen this year, but certainly isn't the best. I went into the theaters with mediocre hopes and I got a mediocre production. The only part I found funny was that Darth Vader, who was my childhood idol, was in it but It was only a Cameo appearance. Darth Vader in this as a main character would have given this a higher rating. The second best part was were Abraham Lincoln saved the day. You see, this movie would have been FAR better though if Darth Vader was more introduced. Lets face it, this is a mediocre film.
6/10 for me. The characters should have been better developed.
October Sky (1999)
Perhaps one of the best of 1999, highly inspirational.
This movie was incredibly well done and thought out. The only reason this thing has a 7.6 out of 10 is because critics hate the space program. This movie rivals Apollo 13 and is highly under-rated. Its a very inspirational film that at the end ==Spoiler== I nearly cried seeing STS-1 liftoff with the absolutely well done film score that makes you want to fly into Space. ==End Spoiler== Jake did a great job on this one.
I remember seeing this back in 1999, I wasn't expecting much and I was extremely surprised and it caused me to go into rocketry myself. Bravo, Bravo.
Apollo 13 (1995)
One of the greatest movie's ever made
I've watched this movie, time after time again after again. This movie's incredible, the Music by the legendary James Horner nearly made me cry at the end. Tom Hank said he was a fan of the space program, and I believe it, his acting on this one rival's his on Saving Private Ryan. He really made a great job on it, and no other Hollywood actor is the real Jim Lovell. Ed Harris for Eugene Kranz? Perfect choice. Kevin Bacon looks almost exactly like Swigert, and Bill Paxton looks a lot like Fred Haise. In short, well done! Maybe they could all get together and make something for the Space Shuttle Astronauts in the 1980's, ever read Mike Mullane's 'Riding rockets', would make a great movie.
