Baby Blues (2008)
NC-17 HORROR !!! keep your children AWAY off this garbage!
and this friendly suggestion is good for you too, all who love good movies including thrillers, because this is NOT, by all means, a thriller nor a "good movie". It was intentionally made in order to frighten the s***t out of you! Also there is no plot, no characters, it's shallow and based on creepy twisted minds of the writer and directors. Nothing is there which could be based on true events, despite the fact that occasionally there are women who murder their off-springs.
Ridge Canipe - Jimmy - acts quite well but all the others are just disasters. Well, there's not really a plot to act with. The little girl acting is so bad that I wonder if all talented little girls mothers gave up Hollywood's dream.
***BEWARE - SPOILERS AHEAD***
Next are some BS points containing ***SPOILERS***;
1.In a country's quite night every noise is heard clearly and loudly. No way an intensely horn blowing wouldn't get intention/reaction. And the old man's hearing was perfect and the music's volume was low.
2. Combine chase - same as no.1 (living in the country I know what I'm talking about).
3. No way the special sound of the radio-transmitter wouldn't caught the attention of the driver, no matter how loud is the music. (same as with cell-phones).
4. A mass-murderer, is always considered as psychotic (if not a psychopath) and being "a danger to society", therefore is kept locked away in an asylum/jail for a long time and should take drugs for the rest of hie/hers life. The same goes for crazy mothers who murder not "only" their children but their neighbors and dog's neighbors as well. Being psychotic means that the episode might return under pressure.
5. American authorities are strict and severe in all issues concerning child-care. No way a parent, under such horrific circumstances, would be aloud to take his psychologically and physically wounded child back home under the care of his crazy mother.
There is much more crap in this pile but I have my life and many good movies are waiting there for me.
Linewatch (2008)
boring dullness
sorry about that guys, you have done a good job acting and supporting the dull plot and the non-creative directing. the story opens with some "flesh" which kept me watching for the next 40 minutes. after that, very disappointed, i withdrew the movie, just hoping that the cast-members got their well balanced fee for their efforts. i'm sure that working in a dull/boring environment calls for more effort than when being involved in an interesting enthusiastic project, no matter which kind of work is required. this movie doesn't entitle more than 1/10 but as the actors are not to be blamed i give it a 5/10 and declare again; this one is not worth any effort from your side.
LA Blues (2007)
This is a one great movie!!!!!!!
how come it is so under-rated? i get to see so many movies and there are so few in which i find myself glued to the screen, disconnected from anything else, smiling, thinking, analyzing, wanting it to go on forever! i still cannot understand the low rating! to begin with, this is a very good, highly intelligent, highly sensitive script. hard to find many like this nowadays. just happened to watch today "His Girl Friday" and thought how fantastic it is to watch a film which balances so well on its script and talented directing. this is the same here; how refreshing it is to get involved in a fine plot, dealing with people, real people, each character is fully developed from the beginning till the end. no need for dirty language, no use of nudity, and it works perfectly. and the excellent acting of all - main characters as well as the supporting ones. i got very much excited with this film as i never heard of it before, and thanks to my curiosity, i overlooked the low rating and decided to give it a try. what is the matter with all you guys who rated this one? bad relationships with a crew member or what? and sure enough this is not, by all means, a comedy. this one is a DRAMA and a fine one too. in order to get some balance in this misdeed i here by give it a 10, which is not very far from my original 9/10.
Dracula's Guest (2008)
adventure? horror? comedy?
when i found myself giggeling again and again i went back to look at the genre and sure enough it was not meant to make me laugh. so i decided to go on watching with anticipation for the promised adventure and horror. not found any. sorry. sorry? oh no! those who made this ridiculous production, from A to Z, they should be most sorry and very sad for proving themselves (all of them) as non-talented artists, no matter what was their part in this 'gurnisht' (yiddish for = nothing / zero / void). it took me 35 minutes off my life, and i'm very furious! quite made me to consider a suit against the producer for robbing my precious time! weak plot, shallow/amateur acting (choose your way), mediocre directing. would production aim to a nice-light comedy, could be a hit (or not).
August (2008)
dull & boring
genre is stated as 'drama'. am i wrong if expecting some "drama"? "thing" is stated as 'a movie'. am i wrong if expecting entertainment of some/any kind? should i NOT expect some kind of 'a story'? should i just sit there, watch some people wondering around, talking in brief-cut sentences about some business which is going bad, understand they want it to fly-high (wow), NOT having any interest, what so ever, if they are going to make it or not, because even after 20 agony minutes i haven't got a clue about their lives, desires, minds, personalities etc.? so i gave up. 20 minutes were just enough for me. maybe those guys who loved this thing, found something wonderful in the 21st minute and on. good for them. there are so many more movies out there, interesting from
- or almost from - the beginning, and life is short so...
Dark Honeymoon (2008)
A BAD joke?
This "movie" is such a bad work! Nothing seems to even try and be realistic. Plot is weak, acting - miserable, actors wondering around like in a 1st year production, trying very hard to act with no chance at all from the beginning. What a flop! What a waste of time, money and effort to all concerned including the audience. Well, as in any thriller, here too are murders, corpses and blood. Just imagine someone who 5 minutes ago, committed a murder with a knife, and came out calm and smiling, not to mention clean as a whistle, as if slashing one's throat is done by a virtual agent. Also, this murder was supposed to be done by a tiny fragile woman on a high strong male, and she cut his throat!!! Did she ask him, politely, to bend down for her? Much more stupidity of that same kind is going on and on leaving the audience wondering if this meant to be a joke which just turned out to be a bad one. Continuity is another huge problem as for instance: The eager-hungry groom is lying in bed, waiting for his virgin-bride to get out of the bathroom and after a long while, falls asleep(!?!). Next scene opens with the young couple entering the reception-area, asking for guidance to scenery spots! NOT A WORD ABOUT LAST NIGHT??? Such a waste of time even to try and write about this low-low supposed-to-be "movie".
