The White Lotus (2021)
Don't Bother, Nothing but petty dribble and boring and narcissistic fools!
If you're interested and seek a show about shallow, narcissistic, rich foolish people than this show is for you. All in all, I found it very boring and shallow. The writing was terrible and predictable. There is nothing redeeming about this show, not one thing.. I'm so bored of the super rich and their petty problems that I want to throw up sometimes. There is nothing creative about the characters nor the plot. It's just more rubbish about rich peoples problems. It would be nice to have a more creative show, well written like Battlestar Galactica, yellowstone but we all can't be Taylor Sheridan call Ronald D. Moore. I don't know really what people are all excited about because it goes from one boring plot line to the next and the long passages, timeouts shots of waves. It's just terrible. The conversations take so long to get to the point you're yelling at the TV get to the point get to the point. My God, please don't renew this. HBO do us all a favor and reduce some good shows like Sopranos in the wire.
Designated Survivor (2016)
Wow, who is writing these negative reviews?
It would seem as though there is a plot to seed bad reviews of this show here on IMDB. Quite frankly, season 3 is just as good if not better than the previous seasons. Season 1 was terrific because of the sheer magnitude of the devastation the United States suffers and how it manages to right itself with a shell of a government with players who are not used to being in positions of power.
Season 3 continues to show the development of these characters and the depth of their humanity. The ability to retain their good judgment, morals and character is something that is sorely lacking in todays world. Perhaps it is hard for some to imagine an honest, straightforward President who has integrity and character because it's been so long since we've seen that in this office.
Don't listen to the skeptics and negative nellies, the show is well worth your time and I hope we can look forward to Season 4 on Netflix!
Wallander (2008)
highly recommend this show
It took an episode to fully engage with this show. Glad I did because it turns out to be extremely compelling with terrific character development wonderful acting and stunning scenery shot all over Sweden. If this was canceled they made a big mistake. They should reconsider bringing this back and launching it in the united states. I highly recommend this show.
SMILF (2017)
Brilliant!
Frankie Shaw is brilliant, as a writer, director and star of a show that takes you inside the life of a young mother struggling to stay alive in south Boston. Any one who reviews this women's work here and is negative or critical clearly has no clue what the realities of life are for young women in this country. This show is right on the mark. Ms.Shaw shows a true ability to transcend the proclivity that other writers have to write and produce totally mediocre crap and there is no shortage of that out there. She on the other hand has chosen to take a risk, be brave and produce a show that has both substance and depth In the writing, in the character development and overall storytelling. This is a half hour that feels like an hour. Ms. Shaw has put her finger on the pulse of an environment only she could have created and then portrays in her fictionalized character who is just witty, attractive, charming and intelligent all rolled up into one. She brings this delightful character to life and it's just wonderful to watch the development and the story progress. Bravo Frankie!
Soaked in Bleach (2015)
Kurt Cobain Was Murdered-Not A Doubt In My Mind & There Won't Be In Yours!
I will not write s long review here as I think it has been done many times over at this point. I did want to register my vote as the trolls of Courtney Love are out there following their orders and using every opportunity they can to downgrade this movie by giving it low ratings.
I hate to spoil it for them but their ploy will ultimately fail because the grass roots movement through simple word of mouth will triumph in the end. Courtney Love tried to get Nick Broomfield's Kurt & Courtney stopped at every opportunity and failed. She managed to have it taken out of consideration at the Sundance Film Festival, it failed it was shown down the street.
She just recently sicked her attorney's on the makers of this film and the brave and courageous theaters that were going to show it! All but one went against Love's cease and desist order. Again she failed!
Why? Because hundreds of thousands of people firmly believe after 21 years there are many unanswered questions surrounding the death of Kurt Cobain. These questions persist, because they have not been answered. They could have been dealt with honestly many years ago, they were not. Ms. Love despite promising to release the autopsy report to independent investigators has not done so. Nor has she come forward and addressed any of the questions regarding the conflicting statements she made and her suspicious behavior in April 1994.
Why? Well, I am not entirely sure. But it seems to me an honest person, a guiltless person would not want people walking around thinking they were responsible for the demise of their husband. I would have done everything in my power to answer all the questions and allow whoever wanted to examine the documents to do so. Why? Because I am innocent and have nothing to hide. Knowing this I would go as far as taking a polygraph test, just like the man she allegedly offered $50,000 to "whack" Kurt Cobain did and passed without a doubt. But none of that has happened so the questions remain unanswered.
Tom Grant has pursued these answers for 21 long years. He has been labeled so many negative things, from being an outright liar to making millions during the decades he has worked to find the truth. His character has been denigrated, and maligned on countless occasions but he is neither a liar nor a wealthy man. He lives a very simple life on a small pension and has held his head up high every day since that unfortunate day he answered the phone in his Los Angeles office on Easter Sunday in 1994. This is a man I believe in. I believe he is telling the truth as he experienced it and has asked for the questions to be answered. He has persevered these indignities to find the truth. I respect and support that.
This movie, while not entirely his movie, as some critical reviewers would state, does tell story of what he experienced and the questions and inconsistencies he discovered in April 1994. These questions are all discussed and explained succinctly and backed up by expert testimony. Every expert calls for one simple thing, to reopen the Kurt Cobain case.
Find the answers to the unanswered questions and the reasons for the rush to judgment, i.e. the closing the case and labeling it a suicide the very same day Kurt Cobain's body was discovered in the green house. This was a mistake made by the Seattle Police Department and today the former chief of police at the time has said publicly that if he were in charge today the case would be reopened. What more do people want? Labeling this case so quickly a suicide was not what should have happened and that is very clear movie or not.
Kurt Cobain deserves better than that. He deserves another hearing. He deserves an independent investigation conducted by an agency other than the police force in Seattle. If this is done and it turns out Cobain actually did commit suicide, so be it, but for god's sake reopen the case and let's put an end to this decades long controversy.
What the hell is wrong with giving it another look, what are people scared of? We need to find this out!
Cobain: Montage of Heck (2015)
Courtney Love Approved This Film - 1st Reason to be Skeptical!
This movie is an insult to the memory of Mr. Cobain.
To even give it the label of documentary is even more insulting! It is a hastily put together montage of carefully crafted and depressing scenes that lead viewers to believe what Ms. Love would like the fans of her late husband to believe.
As another reviewer stated it is not "the definitive documentary" of Mr. Cobain. Far from it. Montage of Heck is simply a compilation of regurgitated film footage & a lot of crappy animation. Mr. Morgen should be ashamed of himself!
In fact huge parts of Mr. Cobain's life have been summarily left out. The parts that were included were designed to reinforce the story line that he was mentally ill since he was a teenager and has always wanted to kill himself and successfully did so when he was 27. Many can attest to the fact that this was not true! But if you are a person who is just a passing fan of the NIRVANA front man, you would believe exactly what Mr. Morgen portrays in his trashy depiction of this man's life.
He takes unconscionable liberties with the video material which he has stated over and over again no one has ever seen before and that he acquired in the recess's of the Cobain vaults. That is just not true.
I for one can point to only a few scenes that have not been scene by the public before, primarily his baby years, and yes they were adorable. The rest of the material was lifted from a variety of sources some of which include: The Year Punk Broke & MTV Live & Loud, & MTV Unplugged all footage everyone has seen many many times!
Mr. Morgen has stated again in interview after interview that this project took 7 years to see the light of day. I find that terribly hard to believe. If this took 7 years to complete, Mr Morgen should find a new occupation!
A major player in Mr. Cobain's life was left on the cutting room floor. Dave Grohl an integral part of not only NIRVANA but a close friend of Mr Cobain's was not included in the film. Yet Mr. Morgen states he did an interview he could not find a proper place in the film to include it because =at the point he was happy with his cut. Smack of a Courtney Love intervention as it is widely know that those two have been quarreling for decades!
Morgen takes liberties with Mr Cobain's already published journals, highlighting and animating sections that cater to the overall direction of the film which is essentially to show the general public how depressed and addicted Mr Cobain was at the end of his life.
It is a high subjective view and it is one Courtney Love would like people to believe in order to keep people from looking to deeply into the circumstances around her husbands death. For more on that I wold recommend watching "Soaked In Bleach". This movie unlike Montage of Trash is based on actual facts and circumstances not lies and innuendo.
I am not trying to pretend here that Mr Cobain was an angel, he wasn't. He had a drug problem, wrestled with the fame he quickly acquired and had a horrendous childhood. But to watch his mother sit there and pontificate about her son who she knows very well, she threw out on a number of different occasions is just sickening. How much was she paid Mr Morgen?
What Mr. Cobain deserves is a documentary that includes parts of the terrible film Morgen made but include the whole picture, his adolescence, his early years in forming a band, his time with The Melvins, how he created NIRVANA, the changes the band went through before becoming the band we know today. The film should also explore the circumstances of his death which were, I am sorry to say you nay sayers out there, very very suspect!
This movie is designed to pull at the heart strings of people who know little to nothing about Mr, Cobain because certainly those that do know a thing or two about him see this as the propaganda piece that it is. Mr Morgen did this because Courtney asked him to and for the money, period.
Dope Sick Love (2005)
The People Responsible For This Film Should Be Ashamed of Themselves!
These film makers took advantage 4 terribly addicted people. It is just irresponsible to film people who could possibly overdose at anytime. Showing the audience long drawn out shots of the couples shooting up, coping drugs, nodding out, engaging in acts of prostitution and a host of other activities is just about the lowest form of film making I have ever witnessed.
All I can say is this is not something I could ever condone and find their methods selfish and self serving. The only party benefiting from this sick relationship the film makers developed with these couples is themselves. Probably only to make a quick buck and make a name for themselves and off the backs of drug addicts, just disgusting.
I'm also wondering how much they paid these folks to allow their camera people to follow them around for 18 months. Truly reprehensible behavior not to mention irresponsible. Their just lucky no one died in their quest to make a name for themselves!
