The Island of Adventure (1981)
My favourite childhood movie!
Of all of my childhood memories, watching this film is one of my favourites! Although now it may seem somewhat dated, I believe it to be a forgotten masterpiece. Anthony Squire did an excellent job directing this, and with stars such as Norman Bowler appearing in it, your enjoyment is almost guaranteed.
It also has some very memorable quotes, such as 'I hate mackerel pie', 'the Thames water is polluted' and 'they rowed them across in barges you know' as well as the classic 'Jack's going to be an Ornithologist!'. You really have to watch it to appreciate this to its full extent.
If you love children's classics, this film should suit you too.
Miss Congeniality (2000)
Well, I like it..
I think this is an excellent movie. Ok, so you don't have to think about it too much, but if you just wanna watch a nice friendly relaxing movie, I think this is perfect! I've seen it maybe 5 times and is definitely one of my favourites at the moment... I can understand why some people think its boring and all-been-done-before, but Sandra Bullock is a little sweetiepie and the best thing is its pretty much non-offensive unlike so many these days! Before I saw it I thought it might be terrible (beauty pageant - urgh!) but its DEFINITELY worth a watch :)
Dunston Checks In (1996)
Possibly the worst...
Watching this film made me realise just how interesting paint drying can be. In fact, this film should be counted as a torture method. If you like humour like 'beethoven' then you'll be ok.. otherwise, stay RIGHT away from this film!!!
Clue (1985)
Mrs Peacock was a man?!
I love this film SOOOOO much, it.... flames, flames, on the side of my face... breaths,.. heaving breaths....
This is probably the best film ever to have been made, I can't believe anyone can watch it without hurting at the end from laughing too much.
I have watched it at least 30-40 times and it gets better with every viewing. My top five moments are (in a High Fidelity style):
1. Mrs Peacock was a man??
2. When the policeman turns round to Mr Green and he smiles
3. I am your singing telegram!
4. And oh my! this soup's delicious isn't it?
5. Oh Mrs Peacock! The kingdom of heaven IS at hand.
I recommend you all go out and rent it today!
Life could be a dream, sweetheart......
