Mission of Honor (II) (2018)
7/10
A solid movie
23 August 2018
I have just come back from the cinema and wanted to share my thoughts. I don't want to spoil anything so I'm keeping the plot to the minimum. The movie is based on true accounts of the finest of Polish squadrons, the 303 squadron formed in RAF, Northolt. It tells the bittersweet story of people who had nothing but themselves and their skills to offer in the fight against Germans during WWII. (Note, I'm not writing Nazis. These were Germans of that era). Having been thought of like the scum of the earth, these men proved that given the opportunity they can be incomparable in the air battles while many English pilots weren't even combat ready. The movie plays itself a bit slowly, CGI isn't the best you can get these days, there are many fictional subplots interwoven by the ones responsible for the screenplay, also there are some emblems missing from the planes, most notably the Polish checkered logo and Donald Duck from Zumbach's (Rheon's) plane. Despite those slight omissions, and some fictitious plots it is quite enjoyable. It takes itself seriously, without pompous heroism nor wallows in martyrdom. It is a well organized, quite serious flick that makes you think. Most people didn't realize it at the time but Poland lost due to the fact that before the war there were only 20 years of freedom, hence the military was not ready to deal with Germans' forces. There were atrocities committed all over Poland, but some people were able to flee and add to the allied effort, it's great that they're getting the recognition they had deserved. I highly recommend it to anyone, even though it might be a bit uncomfortable for some British to watch.

A full circle

I'm not going to spoil the movie nor will I say anything concerning the great acting or the masterful directing (oops:). I actually saw the movie yesterday and it blew my mind. This production is huge and entertaining in every single detail. Great storytelling, great acting great comic book references, wonderful character development - yet another proof that if well thought of one can manage to translate the comic book media onto the screen and make it count. It IS really, captivating or gripping - it made me feel like a teen reading comic books back in the day again. Pure enjoyment both for eyes and mind.

Thank you for this masterpiece:) I strongly recommend it to anyone.PURE ENJOYMENT!!!

$#*! My Dad Says (2010–2011)

I've been looking round to see some kind of comedy and instead of watching that 70s show reruns I've decided to give this one a try. Man it's paid off. I'm not going to brag about the story just give you a general idea. The show is about a son - dad relationship that never was and is supposed to be made up for. The guys are trying to get a long and all of the episodes show us how hilarious at times can it be. The Generatrion gap is the obvious one to bring out the differences and comedy but a lot of situational humor is served which I would say is in pair with MASH or even a one that is better, especially since it's really contemporary and up-to-date and touches upon real-life dilemmas. Every episode leaves you with something to think about and this is the quality which I love in a show. Not many sitcoms have this. This one does and in abundance. Furthermore, it makes you laugh. I really haven't thought a sitcom could've done it to me ever since "Married with children" has been taken off.

Give it a try, it's really worthwhile.
