Don't Look Now (1973)
The title says it all
Honestly, after reading a few comments and looking at the average score I thought I was in for a treat; however, what I got was an endless plodding waste of time. This movie is nothing but an excersize in frustration. Stiff Acting, large chunks of story that wouldve been better left on the cutting room floor and a freshman's approach at directing take what little good this meaningless story might have had. Unless you're afraid of wrinkled midget women in red parkas, skip this entirely. This movie is utterly devoid of eeriness or anything remotely frightening, I actually LAUGHED at the ending. It's THAT AWFUL.

WHY, OH WHY DID I WATCH THIS?
Stay FAR AWAY from this film. The fact that you're reading reviews tells me you may have already been tainted by the awfulness it carrys. This is a truely horrid movie... so let's get down to the problems. Writing and Direction: It wouldnt surprise me if these were handled by a group of overactive gradeschoolers that watched 'scream' and 'I know what you did last summer' a few too many times. GIANT GAPING plot holes abound; while I can't congratulate them for this movie, its nice knowing they're finally potty trained. Actors(or lack thereof): Only the finest for this film... the finest extras ever to grace a screen, now starring in their speaking role debut! As a disclaimer, I have to note that I am capable of watching and enjoying just about anything. I recognize a good movie when I see it, but I can still giggle and smirk during Bubble Boy (yes folks, its true); so when I say to avoid something, you KNOW I'm not kidding.

one trick pony
I hate saying this, but while I did enjoy this film; after seeing ring 1/2 and ghost actress you realize that there isn't much difference between these films aside from character and setting. Now, this isn't to say that 'Dark Waters' is a bad film at all. If anything, the plot is more cohesive than Ring; and it certainly doesn't lack in mood or creep factor. There are a few scenes that'll have you clutching your cover to your face (like me), at the least Im sure you'll be left cringing from time to time. I've heard mixed reviews comparing the scare factor of this and ring, I'll have to side with the camp that says it really depends on the viewer. I still get creeped out and wonder if Sadako is lurking, but I dont anticipate the same happening with this movie experience. All in all Im fairly pleased with this movie, but Id like to see the writer/director involved with a 'fresh' product. They've mastered this sort of story, and its time to move on.

Powerful
All I can say is that you must see this movie, if you can truly say that you know what it is to love another. The message is simple, but is overlooked by society as a whole. All I can hope is that this film inspires others, it has rekindled my hope for the future.
