The Royal Tenenbaums (2001)
The only movie I have ever walked out on
I like comedies. I like dark comedies. I like tragicomedies.
This was none of those.
It is a shame that the lowest score you can give a movie on IMDb is a 1 because this deserves a 0. It is not that the actors did not do well in their parts. (Danny Glover was a joy, Bill Murray was superb, and Owen Wilson was brilliant, as usual. Paltrow, Stiller, and Luke Wilson were adequate.) The plot was just so incredibly horrid that not even great acting could save it.
The Royal Tenenbaums has the dishonor of being the worst movie I have ever seen.
Pippin: His Life and Times (1982)
My favorite musical
I LOVE THIS MUSICAL (and this version in particular). I wish it would come back to Broadway and have Ben Vereen as the Leading Player again. Even though he is older, he would still be amazing. William Katt was great, Martha Raye was brilliant, and Benjamin Rayson was top notch as well.
To the reviewer who said the ending is lacking: They did that on purpose. It is supposed to be anticlimactic. If you paid any attention to the rest of the show you would have realized how brilliant the ending is. They even say at the end that it is a 'musical comedy.' The ending is the funniest joke in the whole show.
10/10
The Wedding Singer (1998)
The Best Adam Sandler Movie...so far
While this may not be Adam Sandler's best movie in terms of pure comedy, it is his best all-around movie. In addition, the casting for this movie was superb. Drew Barrymore is amazing as Julia, Christine Taylor is perfect as Holly, Allen Covert's portrayal of Sammy is great, and the cameos were well thought out, too.
