Entertaining, but no point in this sequel
7 July 2009
Well the movie It's not that bad, in fact It's entertaining, but even thought you can find good actors (not necessarily good performance) and art direction I didn't feel the plot fill what you think the mythology has to achieve, in the end too predictable.

I believe they thought about getting back the franchise and make more sequels, so they said "Let's not do something that good in this one so that we can produce three more and make more money"

And on the other hand having watched the unfortunately cancelled The Sarah Connor chronicles, You see the difference between an interesting and well developed story arc and a poor one, it's really a shame this show wasn't renewed, and had a short life because it really was taking the story to a direction worth to see it, and not just any action movie repeating it self over and over.

Anyway if you are fan you got to see this one and make your own conclusions, I guess It could be worst, but I don't feel like seeing more, only if they take back The Sarah Connor chronicles someday.

Different and beautiful
21 January 2009
I wanted to see this movie long time a go and recently I finally could. The movie is about Elle editor Jean-Dominique who suffers a stroke and gets almost completely paralyzed.

The way the movie is conceived is what makes it special. You perceived many things from the perspective of the main character which involved us in to his circumstances and new life, and also in to his fight to overcome this state.

We are able to understand what he thinks and his feelings without feeling sorry for him or for this kind of situation, we also have some knowledge about how he was before this incident due to some flash back that complements the present story.

In other hands this could have been a manipulated drama, but fortunately this is not the case. The movie has a good balance between story, acting, beautiful images (and girls) and even some humor.

I just can say that it worths the trouble to see this one, is not a common film and you surely will enjoy it.

Nice music, good movie
13 August 2008
I wanted to see this film because several years ago I saw a movie from the same director also starring Maggie Cheung called Irma Vep which I really enjoyed.

This is a drama that in other hands could have been really corny or cliché but fortunately is well conceived and performed. The movie has simple but nice locations, and a special color sense.

Maggie Cheung, Nick Nolte and the rest of the main characters are believable and in my opinion the story never gets boring.

The music is a major point that transmits most of the time the spirit of the movie, which is in some moments hard, even melancholic but in the end full of hope.

Good comic adaptation
31 July 2008
There has been a lot of expectation about this movie, especially because of heath ledger's Joker performance and his unfortunate dead after finishing the film.

Certainly Ledger's performance is one of the major points of the film; he really constructed a complex villain without fitting in to the stereotypes you could imagine for the joker.

The rest of the cast do a good job as well. The story has some interesting turns that you don't expect if you are not a fan of the comics, I mean that people who has read them might know what could happen next in the story. Notwithstanding the plot has it's variations of course from the comic book, so the suspense is not affected.

I think, this is a well conceived second part for the new Batman films adaptation directed by Christopher Nolan, who gave the films an interesting and realistic sense. I have to say that I liked more the first one (Batman begins) maybe because that one surprised me more at the time I saw it.

This one left the story open for a third instalment, which I hope , might be as good as the previous films.

Good but the first one is much better
10 July 2008
I saw the first hulk movie five years ago, and I really liked the story, the music, the style, not one hundred percent perfect, but well developed in many aspects.

And about this sequel I had my doubts, especially because since is directed by another person and performed by different actors the essence of the film might not be the same.

Some things as for instance how hulk looks like, is improved in this version, It seems more realistic and furious, Edward Norton also plays well his character, and the rest of the cast does a good job too, the action scenes are impressive, but all in all, the movie lacks of an interesting story or at least in my opinion, the first movie had an story arc much more solid and suspenseful.

They ignore almost completely the prequel and it's best achievement, for instance the comic style, and some important point as the story that was told. This one omits all that and starts over.

Well I just can say that I liked this one, but making a comparison its predecessor is much more interesting in every level from the story to the visual concept and even the performances.

Anyway is a nice and entertaining film and worth to see it.

Good but not that good
20 May 2008
Well, I didn't have great expectations about this movie, I mean I imagined this could be a nice and entertained film, but not as good as some in the same category, for instance Batman begins, x-men or hulk which in my opinion are very good comic adaptations.

When I saw the cast Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow and Jeff Bridges, I thought that the film would worth the trouble to see it.

I have to say that the film is well performed and that has outstanding visual effects. The art direction is also well conceived.

On the other hand the plot is quite predictable, and I wouldn't have complained if it were more interesting or suspenseful, but all in all, is not a bad start, and since due to it success in box office, they announced a part 2, I hope they will improved the script for that one.

a very well developed movie in details
10 March 2008
A cousin of mine recommended me this movie, I just saw it and I should say that I liked it more than I thought, Since the first sequence you feel a solid structure and well constructed characters, which is not often easy to find, I assume that being based on a novel helps a lot in the plot, but an adaptation to make a movie is not as easy as it seems, and in this case I have to say that the movie has many good things that works along the plot, for instance the flow, the paintings, the pictures, the music and photography, and off course the performances, all excellent played, from the little Elle Fanning (Who has been in several good movies)to Jeff bridges and Kim Basinger, the other actors Jhon foster and Mimi Rogers all did a very good job as well.

And the details as the Jeff Bridges' character(Ted Cole) says are very important.

really good sci fi
27 February 2008
It is a shame this show couldn't last more, it was pretty interesting, and by the time it was produced seemed to be an improved option for x-files but focused on science instead of alien stuff, the acting was pretty good as well.

As far as I remember the majority of episodes were thrilling and well developed, I even thought they were more but actually they did just 13, notwithstanding, enough to get a fan of the series. I hope I can get some day the DVD and watch it again just to have a good time.

I don't understand why the best TV shows get always cancelled, firefly, drive, just to mention some of them, It doesn't make any sense.

The best adaptation for this character
25 February 2008
When I first saw Hulk, I didn't have much expectation on it, I really got surprised about how much I liked. I didn't know who was the director, and later when I discover it was Ang lee, I understood the special style of the film. The beginning is the part I liked the most, the music and the way the images are displayed is really pure art, the movie it's not perfect, but it's far the best adaption I could imagine for this character which is not really my favorite from the Marvel Universe, but since I saw this movie that perception has totally changed, The cast and the performances are also very good. I still don't understand why some people didn't like it, fortunately the majority of friends I recommended the movie have agreed with me "the movie is really a great adaptation from the comic book" I just hope the second part won't ruin what the first one achieved
