The Witcher: Blood Origin (2022)
Atleast It's not 90s Fantasy Anymore
After watching the show I was left feeling decently entertained, but from a cinephile view it, it had issues.
First I'd like to point out that cast does a pretty decent job with what they are working with and under whom. It feels like they filmed more but a lot was cut away which makes it feel confusing, for even fans.
The rushed editing takes away context and coherency. Jumping from one scene to another with much action played out off camera and a moment later were cast back in lacking a bit of the context, is annoying and amateurish.
Also, the story is lacking the proper theme and feel of the books and you can tell that the source material is still not properly respected.
All in all, I'm glad that we have at least left the 1990s and early 2000s horrible fantasy adaptions like The Seeker and it's ilk. Shows like Hercules and Xena the Warrior Princess at least knew what they were and did not try to extend them beyond that.
So to summarize, it's entertaining and of high quality, but the story is somewhat cropped into it's 4 part miniseries and would have been better suited for a 8 part series instead. Gear and props are pretty nice and spot on sometimes and makeup as well, even tho i suspect Michelle had problems with the lenses, seeing her very red eyed. But the 3d effects could have used a bit more budget sometimes.
So, should you watch it? Yes, you will be entertained.
Should they make more? No please, not under the people ruining the shows right now.
But don't expect a stellar show, but it will save you evening!
Dragonlance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight (2008)
Worst production EVER!
I was amazed when I saw the trailer. And when I saw the movie I was disgusted and started to convulse.
This must be the worst thing ever made. A whole world of fan's from both the RPG-genre and those who have read the book's over and over again have been cast aside for the Chance of making a buck. SHAME on you Wizard of the Coast, shame on you for trying to bring in one dollar from this. cause thats all you gonna get, 1 dollar.
And that is not the worst part. it's not even American made. The had a Indian company make it, with help from a German company. Toonz Animation India is their name. and they claim to be "asias leading animation company". WOW, what a load of crap. I've seen better things come out from 3rd world countries. And were do they live? what Asia are they referring to? I mean, just take a peak to the east and you'll find Japan, China and Korea that is creating series and movies with lower budgets but with supreme quality. FFS, next time call Japan and ask them to make it. that way we will know we will get quality and characters that resembles the originals.
And about the voice-actors for this load of manure. Did they even see the movie before signing up for it? did they even watch the crap when they recorded their voices? Were did all the money go? Did the budget go to hire the voice actors and then they realized that "hey, we forgot to make the darn movie! But no biggies, my nephew in India can make it for 100dollars."
I really hope that they meant for this piece of sh*t to be just a teaser for a REAL FUC*IN MOVIE!!!!!
