Wallander (2008–2016)
Wallander Series, Not Bad
3 November 2012
So, I happen to have viewed quite a few cop shows and even worked with the cops on a very limited basis. This is a pretty good show and the actor has the details down pretty well, with two glaring exceptions. First, Mr. Brannaugh's hair, while it is perpetually mussed to appear to be that of a cop, one can tell that this is a very expensive hair cut and style that is to appear to be mussed. Second, in his home in the Riga show, it has him using a desk chair in his home. The problem is that this desk chair is very expensive, likely @ $2,000 in the States, which makes it a very expensive chair. It is expensive leather with a lot of lumbar support, which is costly and more than most cops can afford. With these two exceptions, this actor has the poor cop sample represented very well. He dresses down, and appears to stumble through the crime to get to the perpetrators. It's a well written and well acted show that deserves a solid audience. I hope you all enjoy this. The two issues I pointed out would be the responsibility of the person charged with the details of production. They might want to re-consider some of these choices and pay more attention to the details.

NCIS: Swan Song (2011)
Season 8, Episode 23
One of the Best Shows with Longevity
20 October 2012
This is and has been one of the best shows on television, today and in the past. While so many shows rely upon gory photos, special effects and such, this cast is shown to have very strong, independent and differing personalities and every show relies upon these actors. The show has been on long enough to allow for the past of the characters to begin to come out. It adds depth and character. The writing is superb as has been the casting. This is one show I try never to miss or at least I have it set to record so that I can be sure NOT to miss watching it. With the writing, the actors, the story line, and all the rest that make this such a quality show, one would think that other shows and networks could figure out the formula instead of just attempting to put on a shallow carbon copy of this show.

Alphas (2011–2012)
Used to Be a Good Show, Now nothing but a Sci-Fi Soap Opera
15 October 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I love sci-fi shows and grew up on them. This one is entirely different because it just goes on and on and on every week with no real resolution. This may be the spoiler because I don't really like this show any longer. I would expect some resolution against the "enemy" within at least a year or so. It seems that writers of series think that they can hold our interest if they never resolve anything, over several years. All they have done is make me switch the channel and stop watching it. So for anyone watching, prepare to have the good guys just go on and on fighting the same enemy and never resolving anything. They just go on and on and on, much like the Energizer Bunny. The really sad thing is that this was a really good sci-fi show and it was completely unnecessary to put it in the dumpster as the writers have done. What I really don't like is that there are so few really well written sci fi shows on that when one comes along with a good premise, the possibility of reality, good acting, and a great start, to have the writers trash it in this manner is absolutely inexcusable and despicable. So, if you are prepared to watch this, then be prepared for the similarities to soap operas. I'll watch other things and still be able to "catch up" in a few years.

Airport 24/7: Miami (2012– )
Pretty Good for a scripted Reality
14 October 2012
I have never worked MIA (Miami), but this seems to be a fairly realistic show about what the airport employees face every day. I realize that each episode is not exactly as things have happened but a representation of different issues. It would be difficult to make this show about MIA to be an exact replica of 24 hours continuously as who wants to watch the full 24 hours? What I find most realistic is how and what the security employees have to face and do when situations arise. Perhaps this will help to clarify why the TSA does what they do and help educate people about the tasks, duties and responsibilities that they are employed to facilitate. They are responsible for our flying safety. Since 911, we live in a different world and for that I think we all know who caused this change in our flying experiences.

Homicide Hunter (2011–2020)
One of the Better Shows
9 October 2012
I actually like this show and I end up leaving the television on more for noise than anything else, but I happened to see this show one time and liked it.

I like the narrative and no-nonsense cop attitude. It isn't the usual cop fare that television writers feed us. This is much better and this cop is very realistic based upon the cops that I've met.

I hope others watch and enjoy it too. The shows seems to be more realistic than most other cop shows and Kenda doesn't seem like the crap cops that we get from most television shows. I hesitate to call this "based upon a true story" or a "reality" show, but only because the "reality" in reality shows is so scripted by some very poor writing. This show is much different. Enjoy.

The Other Man (1970 TV Movie)
Best Movie Ever!!
15 March 2010
I could have written most of these reviews. I saw this movie originally and have never forgotten it. It grabs the viewer and involves them in the entire movie and I can't even remember the ending correctly. I do remember thinking that I could figure out every plot twist in this movie and every time I was wrong. This is the only movie that I was never able to figure out as it went. I have always been able to pick out the plot twists except in this movie. This has been my favorite movie and the actors and actresses were the best selection. No one could have done any better! I wish I could find this on DVD or even on television again. It just has not been shown often and that's too bad! If anyone finds a DVD of this, I'd like to know where to get one. Thanks, Ilea
