Orphan: First Kill (2022)
Haters will be hatin'
Nothing wrong with this movie. It lives up to the first one, but delivers a whole new story on the origin of Esther. It could have gone a little deeper so we'd know more about her dark past, how she came to be this way. But I was entertained all throughout the movie. I consider myself a movie buff and I'm particularly into the horror genre. Granted it wasn't that scary, but definitely something to watch on a Friday evening. I think the actors were all right. The brother was too stereotypically the American despot big brother, and the father wasn't that "believable" as a father. But the mother, who let's face it, had a bigger impact on the story, was great. I loved the plot twist and so will you. People expect special effects up the wazo these days, just enjoy this thriller-horrer for what it is. Not as good as number one, but still kinda cool.
Nocturne (2020)
Pretentious and bad
This movie is trying to be intellectual, spiritual and mystical. But the story is just the same as any other thriller if this sort. I think the movie has gotten good reviews because a lot of people are fans of the main actress. This isn't a horror movie, it isn't really a thriller either. It's more of a drama film. Acting was ok throughout the movie. But the plot had a lot of wholes. It just felt like the movie was trying to be something it's not. I wouldn't waste my time on this.

Exciting and thrilling series that deliver great acting and an intriguing storyline. Don't look at the bad reviews, they don't have any merit at all. The swedes sure know how to make good TV.
