Fantastic New Age Fantasy Film
21 June 2008
Amazing New Age Fantasy Film. I thought this film was even better then I anticipated and should have seen it in theaters. The Spiderwick Chronicles is a take off from The Never Ending Story Fantasy Genre where there is a magic book and the book and real life collide. This 2008 film doesn't have that cheesy 80's vibe or music but has stylish orchestral scores by James Horner. Visual Effects are slickly impressive from ILM and with some big voice talents with the ever fantastic Martin Short and Seth Rogen as well. Also starring Mary Louise Parker from hit Showcase TV show Weeds. I love her as the pot dealing suburban mom on Weeds as I love that show but they could have found a better female lead. All the kids in the movie were good actors and I loved this film as Bridge To Terabethia had lots of soul but no crazy visuals. I also hated The Last Mimzy as it sucked. This film was great. It's not too long. It's special effects are great and the story is very well constructed and original as it is different from The Never Ending Story. I understand that this film is based from a series of books and I don't read enough for a fantasy fan. I hope they make another film as this film has potential to continue. Great Film and I wish they made more films in this genre this well or as good.

Cool Alternative Flick!
13 June 2008
I really enjoyed the latest film by Michel Gondry "Be Kind Rewind". A cool very low budget-looking film, but believe me Gondry has lot's of class.I have seen other films by Gondry and I think Eternal Sunshine is his best along with some amazing music videos he has directed for artists like Bjork and Radiohead. You also might not enjoy Be Kind Rewind as it is a little more artistic and rough unlike mainstream comedies and requires a little more appreciation because Michel Gondry makes great movies if you like his style. The great thing about Gondry's films is that they look real. He doesn't use a lot of special effects. Be Kind Rewind is shot in such a way that anybody could make that film but like I said it's Gondry's style which is unique and has made him famous. I also loved Be Kind Rewind because I work in a video store and have worked on films in film school or professionally. I got some good laughs of them doing really amateur film shoots. Mos Def was actually better then I thought as I have not seen him act before. I also love that they shot in an old part of Harlem in a run down neighbourhood. It reminds me of the old distillery area of lower downtown Toronto. Cool flick. Worth the rental and overall a cool alternative flick!

Cool New Indiana Jones Movie w/ Newcomer Shea LeBeauf!
24 May 2008
I was excited because I got free tickets and drinks and popcorn at Cineplex so that was awesome. I used my last free Scene Tickets to take me and two other friends to Harry Potter and The Order Of The Phoenix. Tonight me and my friend were late by like five minutes but I loved the opening with the Ruskies and Kate Blanchette's character. I thought the crazy Ukraine character played by Blanchette was one of the better performances along with Harrison Ford who is now definitely not a young guy but the action in this installment was satisfying but by no means was this the best film of the series. This film looked to be shot on film because it was nice and grainy looking in areas so thanks Spielberg and Lucas for another nice movie. I think Shea LeBeauf is a fine young actor who will for sure have further success. I love the lady from Raiders that was brought back. I enjoyed this movie more then National Treasure 2 lately. Nicholas Cage is not even a spit in the dirt as good as Harrison Ford. I am also almost done my Rambo marathon and First Blood is definitely the best yet. Stallone is also looking very old now on the new Rambo movie.

Cool Bible Flick!
12 May 2008
I thought The Ten Commandments 2007 animated film with Ben Kingsley and Christian Slater was awesome. I seen on the message board many negative comments but when it comes to a film dealing with Religious content ignorant people will always criticize it. I am a lazy Catholic and loved this little simple and fun movie because It tells a nice bible story very quickly and it's cool for the kids. And maybe this film doesn't meet the standards of Veggie Tales or the classic film version's your grandparents and parents loved. I thought this film was fun and that's all there is to it. If you didn't like the movie find something better to do with your time or just don't watch it. I will not watch Mel Gibson's Passion Of The Christ because I've seen all the classics and hate the fact that he's just making money off religion as it's easier then selling bags of manure at the country market.

Definitely Different!
21 April 2008
I have been waiting to see this film because of all the hype. This film was done very well with a digital hand-held camera. Now this was a big production from the same producer that does Lost. So I wouldn't be surprised if there was Steady Cam and some fancier camera tricks. This film had a full blown crew and actors so it had the potential to be filmed Hollywood style but instead the film makers went with a newer and different style from the medium. There was absolutely no plot to this movie. I mean yes and no but mainly this is a monster movie. I found myself laughing almost the whole movie. And it's not that I thought this film was bad. I liked it because I am open-minded and have a film background. But I can already see customers at Blockbuster bring this film back and want there money back. Customers did that with Sweeny Todd because it's a musical. That's so lame. If you don't like a film because of your close-minded attitude don't watch that film. So check this movie out, it's definitely different.

Excellent Film! Just Watch It.
19 April 2008
I just finished watching Resurrecting The Champ and enjoyed this film. This film was shot in Calgary, Alberta and Denver, Colorado. I think it's funny how our American neighbours to the South love to use Western Canadian cities to imitate there own. Samuel L. Jackson has actually shot a few films in Canada and I had a friend see him in the local comic book store in Oakville, Ontario when he did unbreakable which is also a very good film. This time out Samuel L. Jackson plays a homeless boxer who calls himself "The Champ". I like Josh Harnett as well but it depends on the movie. He played a pretty good performance but Samuel L. Jackson makes this film. This story is very heartfelt and sad. I liked how the film pieced together and the ending is great. I just watched Tom Hanks in Charlie Wilson's War last night and that movie had a way bigger cast and budget but was not even as good as this movie.

Juno (2007)

Super Cool Teen Comedy but for adults and others as well as it's so damn good!
1 April 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I just went to go see Juno at The Plaza Theater in Calgary, AB and it was super cool. The ticket was only $9 and I got a huge pop and popcorn for $6. The big theater's like Famous Players and Cineplex can't even beat that price. This theater is super cool too because it's old as hell and has these beautiful red curtains and an old fashioned stage. I give this theater a lot of credit because you don't see independent movie houses around anymore. And I was just talking to a co-worker the other night at Blockbuster about the good old times when the family would pile in the family car and go to the drive-in. Rocky Horror and Reefer Madness are playing soon which I've seen those films before but because I loved the theater so much tonight I will for sure go back again.

The movie was totally awesome. I couldn't wait to see it on DVD and I love the big screen and surround sound at the theater. Nothing is like watching a film with other people. It makes the experience more intense. This film had great acting all around. I absolutely think the girl who played Juno is sweet and I love her in what I've seen her in so far. The kid from Superbad is awesome as Bleeker. Juno's parents are very funny and I love the father. Then you have Jason Bateman and Jennifer Garner. I love Jason Bateman on Arrested Development but in this film he plays the douche bag husband who still wants to be a kid. I love the scene where Jason Bateman tells Juno he wants to divorce his wife and move downtown to work on his music career more. And Juno makes fun of him and calls him a failed musician who is stuck in the early 90's because his band opened for The Melvins. And Juno taunts him and says "What would the Melvins think of your selling out".

Great music selection for this film and almost all of this film was shot in British Columbia, Canada so that's awesome. I'm totally glad I got to the theater tonight instead of watching movies I get from Blockbuster on my Laptop which really sucks when you watch a movie. That's why the theater will never die! Downloading may one day totally keep people from renting videos as downloaded files are free and they don't skip like a DVD. But downloaded files will never look or sound as good as films do in the theater!

Another Cool Corey Feldman movie. Also with Tom Hanks and Princess Leia!
1 April 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I remember seeing this film when I was a kid and enjoyed re-watching it as old movies are great to watch when you don't remember them. This movie was another awesome 80's flick for me. This film was released in 1989 and when Guns and Roses were still popular and New Kids On The Block were trendy. I loved this film as it is so realistic with the different characters. Tom Hanks stars as the neighbour going through mid life stress and taking some time off from work. His idea of relaxing is sitting around his suburban house. Then you have his eccentric retired army guy crazy man next door and his fat other neighbour who gets him into trouble around the neighbour hood. Corey Feldman is the punk kid who lives on the block. I am a big fan of Corey Feldman. He is great with lines. In this movie he is like "I love this neighbourhood". He is one of my favourite 80's actors and now own several movies with him in them. If you also like Corey Feldman I will recommend Lost Boys, Stand By Me, or The Goonies. All awesome movies from the 80's. Cool movie about a haunted house thought to be the door way to hell by the neighbours.

Cool but Super Cheese!
25 March 2008
I still think the first Neverending Story is the best of the series. I didn't so much like the second one as it was super cheese. This one is still super cheese but I enjoyed this movie. This version is so 90's. The music is so Dance Mix Tape style. And I loved Jack Black as the bully. This movie is not as well done with the fantasia characters but I really liked the story line with Bastion's little sister. And the nice family moral at the end of the film. This movie is not as cool as the first one but maybe because I'm a kid of the 90's I liked this version because I can remember growing up in the 90's. Hopefully they will not make anymore versions of the Neverending Story unless they do a really good job. Falcor was so cheese in number three that I can't bare to see anymore movies made of this series unless they do an amazing job on a fourth one. I am so cringing the new Lost Boys Tribe movie as it will be nowhere as good as the 80's original.

Very Good Film, I'm Glad I Finally Watched It!
24 March 2008
I've been long procrastinating to watch Into The Wild as I work at BlockBuster video and everyday people ask for this movie. I work in the second smallest store in Western Canada and we only have 30 copies of this movie for customers. Now after watching the film I wish we had a lot more. This is a very nicely shot movie with beautiful scenic shots. I am not a big Sean Penn fan but I thought he played a good role. Vince Vaughn is also in this for a short time and was also was very good as I enjoy his acting. Being a musician myself and a huge fan of Pearl Jam I loved the Eddie Vedder acoustic tracks in the movie. Great music selection in this film with other folk driven music as well. Very sad story which apparently is true. I just thought the narration was a little cheese but at the end when it says that the sister took care of his remains that struck a chord with me. I also loved how this film had a total hippie vibe to it. I loved Rainy and Jan and the nudist hippie's at the end are funny when the old guy is like "How can you live beside those dope smokin' hippie's" and Sean Penn says "Well, they just keep to themselves". Very Good Film. I'm glad I finally watched it.

Corey Feldman: Vampire Killer Expert!
20 March 2008
I have to admit I had only seen a short chunk of this movie when I was in Film School. I just finished watching my super scratched up BlockBuster rental. It was ghetto, I played the movie full screen and then it skipped when they kill the head vampire. So I flipped it over and finished it on wide screen. Awesome film. Great music, I love the theme track throughout Lost Boys. Good story. Cory Feldman and a movie from the 80's everyone should watch if you love that time period like myself. Keiffer Sutherland plays a great bad guy like in Stand By Me which I recommend if you like this film as it has Keiffer, River Phoenix, and Corey Feldman. This movie also had a little bit of cheese appeal. I love the old Grandpa, he's too funny.

This movie is 2 thumbs up and a ten on my IMDb rating!
18 March 2008
I've been saving that DVD to watch for a rainy day or a day off in my case. I was way too young too remember this movie from 1986 as I was only three years old. Cool sci-fi movie that is in the same realm of coolness as ET. A young boy is asked by his mother to go get his younger brother from the neighbors. The kid named David, falls down this ravine and hits his head. He passes out and finds himself awake 8 years later and everything has changed including his family. I am not going to wreck the plot anymore you will have to watch this movie. My roommate is already mad at me for spoiling some of the plot because I thought this movie was awesome. And Sarah Jessica Parker is pretty hot as she is sooooooo young in this movie and it was way before her Sex In The City success in the nineties. Flight Of The Navigator is a movie I know I will watch again as I love movies from the eighties and movies filled with adventure and worlds we couldn't even imagine in our existence.

Cool End Of The World Flick!
17 March 2008
So I finally watched I Am Legend with Will Smith. First off, I like Will Smith as The Fresh Prince or in Men In Black. He is a pretty good actor and better on the screen then on the mic that's fo sure, shorty. I'm getting' Jiggy wit it. I thought I am Legend was pretty cool. Awesome Zombie's gallore and I love Will Smiths Dog. He has a nice German Shepherd. The Mustang GT at the first is dope and he uses that sweet gun. I thought it was awesome that they made New York look destroyed and deserted. I liked the Bob Marley reference near the end of the movie and the choice of music at the end credits. Furthermore this movie has a cool story an ending that connects to the rest of the film and good acting. I also really enjoyed the sound design as it was also cool. Now I am going to watch Omega Man and see if the older film is similar to this one as it was recommended to me. Peace!

This is not a rip off of Harry Potter but very similar!
15 March 2008
OK, so this movie is not cheesy. It has a story line that is like Harry Potter but a bit different. Now many people will say this is a complete rip off from Harry Potter but how many movies have been made where there is a popular movie made and then take offs. Or how many bands sound just like another band because they are influenced by that band. Art is ripping off other work and making your it your own. I remember when I was playing in a punk band I wrote a ska song, recorded it and then realized... Wow, this kind of sounds like Gold Finger. So don't be so ignorant to say that this movie is lame because it is like Harry Potter. I'm sure the author of Harry Potter was influenced by Lord Of The Rings and other publications that came out long before her time. I thought this movie was pretty cool. It's very short and a cool story that, yes does really have many similar ties to the awesome Harry Potter but this is still it's own movie which I think deserves a little respect.

Enchanted (2007)

Animation & The Real World, Fantasy & More
14 March 2008
I just finished watching Enchanted and thought it was better then Neverwas which I watched last week. This Disney movie has Dr. Steamy or whatever they call him from Gray's Anatomy. The sexy, new to me, Amy Smart, Susan Surandend as the evil witch. Peter Pettigrew from Harry Potter and the guy from X-Men. Really cool animation that looks like old school Disney style circa Beauty and The Beast, Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs, Sword In The Stone. This film then goes into the real world modern day New York city. Super cool story. Very humorous and Amy Smart is just adorable and cute. This is a kids movie but a story also about love. And I loved the end of the movie but I'm not going to ruin this movie. Just watch it. I love almost everything Disney releases and this was one of the better Disney films I've seen new to DVD in a while.

Michelle Peiffer is Smokin' Hot In This Movie!
11 March 2008
This movie was totally cool. I bought it at Blockbuster for like $5 bucks because we are selling a lot of our favourite titles at work because they don't rent out enough in a given year. That's stupid but good for my collection. I bought Krull and Ladyhawke both for like $5 bucks each this week and these old school movies are really hard to find. This movie was way cooler then Stardust which had Michelle Peiffer in it recently. In this 1985 fantasy film she is smokin' hot. I guess Kurt Russel turned down the male lead role. Oh, well... I love Kurt Russel but I somehow think he would have kicked Matthew Broderick's ass if he had to act in the same movie with him. This has got to be one of Matthew Broderick's first roles and I like him in Ferris Buellers Day Off but usually hate him otherwise. In this movie I know see he can act sometimes and I also enjoyed him in Bee Movie this week. If you like fantasy movies check this one out and enjoy when they made good fantasy movies before all the fancy computer effects like in a movie like the new Beowulf which was super cool but does not look the same as the older movies.

Sweet Movie! Totally cool! Welcome Back Jerry Seinfeld!
10 March 2008
This kids movie was totally awesome and had lot's of adult humor. Welcome back Jerry Seinfeld who hasn't really done anything since Seinfeld. Renne Zellewigger was awesome as usual. Tons of big actors. I hate to say Matthew Brodderick grows on me when I see him in good movies. My favourite character was Chris Rock the Mosquito "I was a blood sucking parasite before... I just needed a briefcase. Animated movies are just mind blowing how smooth the animation is and how realistic. Actors get way more into the voice roles I find. This movie has catchy music and lot's of laughs. Very inventive script. Jerry Seinfeld is a great whiny bee who challenges bee ethics and human nature. This movie is totally cool and I already know I will be buying this on video this week. Sweet...

I wish this movie Neverwas made!
8 March 2008
Wow am I tired after watching that snoozer of a movie. Neverwas stars Aaron Ekheart who is Zachery Small the little boy who is the hero of Neverwas in the book. Why is it many fantasy films are contained within books like The Nevereding Story which is ten times better of a movie. Brittany Murphy actually surprised me as being pretty good in this movie. And the dude from Lord Of The Rings loses his marbles as a mental patient who thinks he is the king of Neverwas. This film also stars Nick Nolte who is Zachery's father and the author of Neverwas. I thought this movie would get cool and Zachery would trip out halfway through the movie and have a crazy dream sequence. Nope... This movie sucked. And my co-worker at Blockbuster also thought it sucked. So if you like fantasy movies don't watch this film as it will be a very painful watch especially if your like me and wait to see if the movie will eventually pick-up. Not this time around and I wish this movie Neverwas made.

Awesome Movie!
7 March 2008
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was another movie that made me cry. I love fantasy films like The Neverending Story, Krull, Willow, Labyrinth etc... This nice little film was a Walt Disney piece that was fantastic as all Disney films are. I really related to the location set in this small country town. The main characters are Jess the Farm boy who's family is kind of poor. All the kids pick on him. Then a new family moves next door to him. They have a daughter named Leslie who is a New Age hippie like her parents. Her parents are authors who write fiction books. She is very intelligent and imaginative. Jess the boy is also very artistic and is good at painting. I loved the idea that Teribithia is across the canal if you swing across the rope. The other side is filled with magical creatures and a world only you could imagine visually on LSD. I am going to spoil the ending now... The ending is very sad and I cried when Leslie dies. She tried to swing across the water and hit her head and drown. This story is very realistic and imaginative. I remember when I was a kid and used to play in the country. I was fortunate to be brought up in a place of natural beauty and countryside. I loved the rolling hills and open pastures in this movie. The wooden fences you see in countryside and more old fashioned houses. This film was beautifully shot. Had a great script. The directing and acting was great. The production was impressive and I was not let down. This film was better then I anticipated and gets a score of ten.

Let's Be Honest
7 March 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I thought this film was a good laugh and I love British Comedy as opposed to American movies as the humor is different. This film is about a man who finds out that he has only six weeks to live because of cancer. So he decides he is going to kill people in his life that wronged him in the past. So he goes on a killing spree throughout Britain. He then finds the women of his dreams through one of his victims and falls in love. That's where the buck stops folks. If I give away any more plot IMDb will hate me. I like writing reviews like I would describe it to as friend. I think it's lame how people practice to be film critics and write elaborate reviews. I'll be honest. This is a straight up British Comedy. Ben Kingsley and John Cleese play very small parts but are awesome. This film was OK. And it gets a seven in my book as my insides didn't hurt from laughing. He if you like comedy and want to see a really good comedy check out Dan In Real Life with Steve Carrell and Dane Cook which is out on video this week.

A Kids Dream Movie!
3 March 2008
I just finished watching Mr. Magoriums Wonder Emporium and thought this was a very innovative kids movie. This movie stars Dustin Hoffman as Mr. Magorium, Natalie Portman, and Jason Bateman from Arrested Development. Magorium owns a magical toy store and is over 200 years old. He has magical powers that are very cool and imaginative. Hoffman's character kind of reminds me of Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka. This movie made me very cry a good many times as it reminds us that we are all gifted with our own talents. Portmans is the piano and she learns that she later can make magic with just her dreams and talent. I thought this was a great movie and would be a good family movie night for the kids. I also recognized this film was shot in Toronto, Ontario. They shot a scene in front of the world famous Union Station on Front and Bay street. I also recognized some other spots in the downtown. Cool flick, I think this film will do very well on video and check this movie out if you have ever dreamed before.

Cool movie but way too much computer animation and effects!
23 February 2008
I just finished watching Beowulf on DVD and really enjoyed the film more then I anticipated. Sometimes I think having the expectation that the film will be bad when you watch it is a good thing as too not let you down if it's really just a bad movie. I went into this film thinking that the effects would be poor. When I watched it I realized that everything in this movie is CG and Special Effects processed. I heard they had to digitally enhance Angelina Jolie as she was still pregnant when she did this film. This movie also has Anthony Hopkins and John Malkovich. very good story and this film flowed well. I didn't really get bored. I thought the computer effects were nice but I still don't like movies that depend too much on the computer effects. This was a film that was paid very good attention too and has lot's of eye candy for the viewer. On a whole, this movie gets a sore of eight in my rating system and is well worth the watch to see what all the hype is about.

Canuck Comedy Duo
20 February 2008
Well I just finished watching The Great Outdoors starring Dan Akroyd who is Canadian and Mr. John Candy. I thought this movie was humorous and good for the time (1988). This plot is very simple and realistic. It's funny, when John Candy is driving the family car towards the cabin I thought I heard him say they were in the back country of Canada. Anyways, I guess this movie was shot in California on Paramounts lot and Bass Lake. I think Akroyds Rich snobby family is great. The wife is totally spoiled and high class. Akroyd is Mr. Business. He plays an a-hole in this movie. He is an a-hole in real life too. I love him and he's from my hometown of Kingston, Ontario. He can play any role and I love the way he talks. His two twin girls are creepy. Then you got John Candy who is literally the size of a grizzly bear. His tiny cute little blond wife and two boys. The older boy is girl crazy and has a little kit with a little country lass. I loved the scene where Akroyd wants to impress everyone so he rents a fancy jet boat. They get big ol' John Candy ridin' on there and he crashes onto the sand. Poor Candy looks like he could have a heart attack (Not In This Movie anyways). This would have been very low budget shoot at the time as it's just set in the country and there is all kinds of spots that are nice for shooting especially in Canada. They should have shot it instead in BC it would have looked nicer and it's the real Canadian look instead of some American location. Come to Canada were friendly eh.

Krull (1983)
10/10
This Movie Would Be Awesome On LSD!
18 February 2008
Krull was released in 1983. It is one of many fantasy themed films of that decade. I love the eighties and films like Willow, He Man, and now Krull. I had never seen or heard of this movie before. Totally awesome film with amazing visual effects that weren't done on a computer. They made many super trippy films in the eighties with stage props and set design. Labyrinth with David Bowie is another amazing film. In this movie there is a young prince who sets out to rescue his princess which he is supposed to marry. Meanwhile, she's locked away in the Tower Of Darkness. Ohhhhhhh, and it's insane with walls moving and weird patterned walls. I swear I had an Acid flashback. There is a cyclops guy that rocks and a shape shifter who at one point tuns into a huge beautiful Tiger while the characters are trapped in the tower of darkness. This young boy just sits in this round white tubed hallway right beside a Tiger and he is just petting the Tiger. The Tiger had to be totally trained to stay neutral for the camera and was used to humans and being pet as potentially you can train huge wild animals to an extent. But they would still be wild animals and it just blew my mind to watch this small child playing with the Tiger as it was a family pet. It was absolutely amazing. This film has a crazy widow queen who hides in a mountain with a deadly spider guarding it. It's got horses that fly and Liam Neesan is in it. This film is so ahead of it's time especially since it's mid evil dressed people who look like there from Lord Of The Rings but it's set in the "Galaxy". Wow, when The Tower Of Darkness blows up at the end it's so wacked out with tons of white light bursts. This film gets a ten because it has a great story, great actors, awesome costumes and visual effects and the princess is hot.

This Movie Is Awesome!
17 February 2008
Long live the 80's! And I wish I could find old episodes of Perfect Strangers! Belke and Larry Rock! This movie was made in 87' so I was only 4 at the time. I had never seen this movie and am glad I bought it for less then $10 because I work at ShlockBuster Video and get an employee discount. I have recently been watching a lot of movies from the late 70's through the eighties and early 90's. I was a teenager in the early to mid 90's so I was very young but remember the eighties vividly. I now love Elizabeth Shue. Apparently Jodie Foster turned this role down. And God bless her she's Canadian but I'm glad she turned down the part. This movie was directed by Christopher Columbus and this was his directing debut. He also wrote the screenplay for The Goonies and was also the one who did Mrs. Doubtfire and the first two Harry Potter movies. Christopher Columbus is the King of kids movies in my opinion. I gave this film a rating of ten. It has a realistic but notrealistic, funny and adventurous plot. Nothing but action. This film was shot in Chicago and also Toronto, Ontario. I thought I recognized the old Silver Dollar on Spadina. If you are in Toronto. The Silver Dollar Room is one of many great clubs in the city's downtown. I liked how in this movie there was a lot of sketchy characters like Mr. Pruid. The nice truck driver who towed there car. Or the friendly black car thief. People who do nice and good things for others. When I lived in Toronto I remember during the SARS epidemic a few years ago I was waiting for a subway at Bloor Station and there was only one other man standing on the platform. Everybody else during that time avoided contact with other people just not to risk infection and would wear those masks like doctors wear over their mouths. I never wore one because I thought if god chooses for me to die by SARS he will. Anyways, ramble.... This guy was a kind of threatening looking character like a biker. It was so cold and I am a social whore so I started a conversation with the man. Turns out he was from my Home Town of Kingston, Ontario. Small world. One that is short on good souled human beings.
