Godzilla vs. Kong (2021)
Expensive mess
Some run of the mill cgi coupled with good action sequences but woefully let down by the human element and weak plot which felt muddled and incoherent made worse by the awful performances by the main characters. The two hour runtime dragged and ultimately felt like I was watching someone else play a video game.
Willy's Wonderland (2021)
Dire
It's Nicholas Cage beating up 'puppets'. Banana Splits did something similar but was much much better than this terribly conceived piece of content. The production design is awful, the cinematography is atrocious with obligatory and gratuitous shaky cam. This really is bordering on a scam to take your money as a premium offering on the now monetary driven lucrative streaming services. Don't fall for it. Nicholas Cage has a fan base and yes he pulls some funny faces but this is just lazy, pedestrian film making that needs to stop. Avoid unless the production team have sent you a screener to watch while you're taking a dump.
Shadow in the Cloud (2020)
Bravo!
Not sure why this is receiving some negative reviews? This is a fun rollercoaster from start to finish, it's over the top and yes, it has a kick ass female lead (no pun intended).
Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020)
Comic Relief Special..
The first two Bill & Ted movies at least were great fun. They also had a some great cinematography and production design. Face The Music sadly was a cheap 'shot on video look' sequel which was a tough watch from start to finish. (If you can call the finale a finish?). I felt like I had seen a U.K. based comic relief special featuring some of the actors from the original Bill & Ted movies. Sad times.
