The Glass Room (2019)
So many oppertunities
Let me start with a compliment, it's beautiful filmed! I am utterly disappointed though, as I had high hopes for this project. 225 characters I have to write and I don't know where to start!
All characters went quickly from 0 to 20+! The viewer gets to learn nada about no one. The house a was prominent factor and was something I liked. BUT with all these people involved around this house, one would expect it would be more mapped out.
It is many characters cramped into the standard time that stands
for a cinema movie. I guess it would have been better to make this project a miniseries or series so one gets to know every character attached to that house.
The World to Come (2020)
In awe of the script!
I really adored this movie, as it is slow and the story is whispered in your ears. Excellent choice on the lead role in voice with the monologues!
I did felt sorry for Dyer, as he is a good man, with utmost understanding. Dyer's and Finney could be movie on it own cause nobody ever dared yo tell it from that perspective. As queer, that sjeit happens to and it is very difficult for someone to accept that new reality, which was beautiful portrayed in this movie, on the down low. Personally I do like some more confrontation with what we wish not to see.
This is one of those movies, that if you like a story read to you, you certainly have watch.
I Care a Lot (2020)
Loved it
Big understanding it got underrated. Nobody wants to hear about it, yet it is a reality ongoing. This one in a highly fantasy world but yet so on the dot.
I loved that the main characters are portrayed as super hero's... so one would say? "Heck yeah!" BUT...... little to that feeling. As soon as you get to know them? It rubbed the soul, as the characters revealed their true colors and those aren't exactly what we wish for the world.
Loved this disturbed feeling, where I rooted for them and yet also despise them. Let alone the so called "B" actors, "A"ctors that have been there and always a beacon to elevate the leading roles.
It is a 8 out of 10 for me, just because they made something that heavy hearted, lighter, so much lighter than it is in reality.
