Great movie, although the acting is sometimes not the best. It is an honest and courageous movie about the issue of literacy and a broken system: the English spelling system. When will people realize that the English spelling system is disabled, not kids! It is full of flaws and misspelled words causing all kinds of issues for kids and teachers, slowing down the rate by which kids can learn, can learn to read, can learn to write and spell. They care about kids? Really? Well, maybe it is time to spell "are" like it should be spelled "ar" like "am". All of those who are spelling with an extra "e", you ar wrong! He iz right! They ar rite! Lurn how too spell! I am rite! hundreds of thousands of words are misspelled in English dictionaries! A language needs to be spelled properly and the ones who did write the words in the dictionary failed! As a result, it costs a lot of money and wasted time! Many kids are suffering! Many kids, parents, teachers are frustrated! Let's ... reform- English blogspot!

I saw this movie because it had been well liked by the French audience for one year after its release. I was in France at the time. Another story of a Jew being badly treated in life was not that compelling because, surely, there are many other people of other races who have been mistreated and will be mistreated. It seems that Jews want us to feel they are the only one being mistreated, but we know that this is not true. Regardless, I went to see it. I quickly understood the importance of one important aspect of the movie, namely the acceptance of the Jewish community of Jews that look like Arabs. The story is very powerful as we see the whole spectrum of judgement and acceptance in people. (BTW, I think that we could extend the lessons of this movie to include all people who look different). The music is good, but it is a bit "repetitive"! The acting is alright, but I am not good at criticizing that. The plot is the best part of the movie. It is a courageous movie for sure, as it shows in a bad light some of the worst reactions of some Jewish people. However, you also see the acceptance of many. Surely, there are all kinds of people in ISrael, just like there are in many countries. It is a beautiful movie that you could watch a few times and appreciate again and again. The ending is somewhat predictable, but so powerful.

I had to look at people who hated this movie and one wrote: "What we have is an early-20s, female, socially adolescent do-gooder who resorts to match-making, forced coincidence and, yes, even trespassing, illegal entry (and a potential arson charge, to boot) to fill her internal emptiness because she can't find a man. And when she does find someone, she doesn't know what to do." HONESTLY? A movie has to be politically correct to be liked! WOW! You have to be the opposite of a do-gooder to be a great movie! Double WOW! Of course, people cannot trespass in a movie because this will bring people en-masse to do so? Triple WOW! Yes, maybe she has internal emptiness, but she sure gets it filled quickly, doesn't she? Missed that part, I think! Apart from the great acting,the originality of the cinematography and of the presentation and of the music, a great plot, and absolutely the best character development for many of the character, if this is not liked because it is "too" French and it is made for "Americans",... then why would a Francophone like me love it so much! And I am a male!

I wish everyone would see this movie. It has one simple thesis: there is a drive to privatize water. It supports its thesis with examples and details about those examples with interviews from experts, local people impacted, and even try to involve the companies that are attempting to privatize, with images, with maps,... It also provides easy solutions to the problem of providing water to the people who need it the most. There are a few arguments that are not supported (like the one on chemicals being absorbed through our skin and such,...) by one activist. The main CEOs of those companies refuse to respond to the allegations (because they know they cannot defend what they are doing, they avoid answering the questions). It is a pretty important documentary. One of the most important doc. I have seen in years. People who criticize this doc. on form are so lame. It is not supposed to be a Hollywood movie! I doubt they have the budgets to build ramps to allow smooth filming, for instance.
