Reality (2023)
Decent acting but dull as dishwater
I fell asleep during this movie!
The acting was great from Sydney Sweeney, however, the subject matter was dull and the story didn't really go anywhere other than two agents asking a bunch of questions in quite an odd and amateurish manner, which made me think that they may have not been agents at all, which would've made things more interesting.
This was like a one act play but without the plot or storyline to maintain my attention, except in the first 30 minutes while I was trying to figure out what was going on. Why were there odd fade outs occurring throughout? Was this going to be a sci-fi?
Maybe this made more sense to an American but for myself as a Brit I found this movie strange and dull.
Mea Culpa (2024)
Bad Movie
I don't know where to start with this movie, but it was bad, very bad.
The main actress playing Mea was unconvincing and not particularly brilliant in her craft. The same can be said for most other members of the cast with a couple of minor exceptions.
The dialogue was poor and the plot predictable with most people being able to work out the ending before the actual end.
Is it just me or are people awaiting a murder trial allowed to roam the city on their motorbike doing whatever they like?
The music in this movie was also strange taking classic songs and making them sound very odd, however, there were some orchestrations which seemed to punctuate the movie quite well.
Overall, it was complete Tosh, which was neither enjoyable, nor entertaining.
Scrapper (2023)
Unexpected Gem
I saw this film as part a Cineworld secret screening and was sceptical when it first started thinking it may be a Ken Loach type movie. My wife suggested another Kes!
I was however, surprised to find a funny, sweet movie that showed how a young girl (Georgia) copes with life following her mothers death in a not always legal way.
Everything changes once her estranged Father returns and although he's not the perfect dad, he has her best interests at heart and tries to win her over.
Watching them bond is emotional, entertaining and sometimes laugh out loud funny particularly during one scene at the train station.
Highly recommended.
