Mr. Nanny (1993)
Way Too Low of a Rating = Cynics Who Likely Never Watched it
I wonder how many people who rated this actually watched it?
I guess it's cool to be a cynic and think Hulk Hogan as a nanny, well that's just stupid. But the movie is good. The actors are all good, everyone does a great job in their role. The music in the movie is great. "Rough Stuff" and "I don't wanna go to school" are great tunes. Judge the movie for what it's trying to be. The movie is just trying to be a silly little comedy with some decent action and gags, and it succeeds at that.
Austin Pendleton, David Johansen, Sherman Hemsley, Raymond O'Conner and Mother Love all deliver big in the movie. You'll likely recognize them from other things.
Help Me Help You (2006)
Great show that should not have been canceled
The show was very entertaining and had one of the best cast of any show I have ever seen. The cast included Ted Danson and several other veteran actors such as Jere Burns, Tim Meadows, Charlie Finn, Jim Rash, Jane Lynch, Thomas F. Wilson, Bruce Altman and Jane Kaczmarek, if you don't recognize the names, look at pictures of them, and you will most likely remember them from something. I consider this show one of my favorites despite such few episodes and I am clueless as to why ABC canceled it.
Now about the show it was a comedy. Ted Danson played a Therapist and best selling self-help author who held group therapy meetings for people who had social problems such as anger management, sexual confusion, dating and work place environment issues and he tries to get them to take control of their lives and help themselves. At the same time Ted Danson's character is dealing with being divorced from his long time wife played by Jane Kaczmarek who is dating Thomas F. Wilson's character, and while all this is going on his 20 something daughter is dating a fellow therapist who is the same age as him. So Ted Danson's character is trying to help others while he needs a lot of help himself. It was a very funny show and another great work by Ted Danson.
Bugs Bunny Birthday Blowout (1990)
A Great Game
I loved this game as a child in the early 90's, and as an adult I have played it and beat it online, a very entertaining game for all to enjoy. In each level you have a large hammer to hit your enemies with, there are also carrots that you eat, and at the end of every stage there are mini games that allow you to earn extra lives based on how many carrots you consumed, also in this game you battle all the top loony tunes characters at the end of each level, such as Tweedy Bird, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam, Silvester and his son, Peppy La pew, and in the final level you take on Taz. And its revealed at the ending of the game that it was all in good fun.
Tommy Boy (1995)
A Comedy Containing Much Humor
This movie is meant to be a comedy and it succeeds on every comedic level. The physical comedy with Chris Farley, humorous cut-downs between Farley and David Spade, and the funny interactions between the other characters, Farley and Spade make all this possible. This movie takes elements from another great film "Planes Trains and Automobiles" as two dissimilar people from different backgrounds and who have very different lifestyles are stuck together and forced to travel together. There are also some touching scenes in the film such as when Chris Farley is out on the lake in a small sail boat talking to his deceased father. And through out the movie its clear that Farley's character may be a bit of a screw-up but he has a good heart and tries the best he can to succeed. There are also what seemed to be true life dialog between Farley and Spade, lines that don't seem so scripted but rather how 2 friends talk to each other, I appreciated this as not every joke in life makes you go "hahaha" some just make you go "ha" and that's what their dialog did at some points in between the "hahaha" moments, they didn't always go for the big laugh all the time.
