The Bucket List (2007)
Three things to remember when you get older: never pass up a bathroom, never waste a hard-on, and never trust a fart
Simply inspiring.
I'm going skydiving on my birthday because of this movie. Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman are two of the best ever and in this film they reach their peak with complete simplicity.
Well written and with a well-constructed narrative evolution, the film reveals the power of friendship and love.
In addition to the family bond and the way it becomes the objective at the end of the film, the viewer is presented with some of the 7 wonders of the world as items to be fulfilled as well as the impact of culture on human life.
Many people leave this world without having the opportunity to meet such genuine people and see the wonders of this unique planet.
Romance & Cigarettes (2005)
"Scare me to make me feel alive"
The last 30 minutes are sublime and elevate the film's level. Gandolfini and Susan Sarandon have good performances.
A bit dramatic film but with some points that touch on current affairs. The end reveals what is most important in life. Love and family.
One of the few films made by Turturro and despite starting out too flashy, almost suggesting it is a musical, it has a heart touching ending. Kate Winslet presents herself as a prostitute and proves to be versatile in this character.
My favorite phrases are the one in the title of the review and the other is "The nicotine fairy killed me" when Nick (Gandolfini) confesses and foresees his future coming.
