Sherlock Yack - Zoo-Détective (2011)
The only things I am upset about, is, that there are not more episodes and of course, that it was kept too simple.
I love it. I love this show and no matter in what language I watch it, it stays endearing. I love the characters, I love the setting, the animation and design, it's good. Things, I however, still think could have been improved, is the way the episodes went. A plot begins most of the time in the episode and includes a victim, sometimes even Sherlock or Hermione, who is getting something stolen, broken, hurt whatever. B plot is mostly Hermione and Sherlock having a certain topic that they keep coming back to over the day. In the meantime they investigate, then Sherlock knows, repeats it all to the viewer and then the reveal comes along. It all concludes in a punishment and the B plot finding an ending in some shape or form.
It gets repetitive, and the series could have some breathers, more than just the B plot. Nonetheless, I get why this is the pattern one chooses.
It probably is what the books include, kids can follow easily and no matter what episode you watch, in a certain way you at least know how the key parts of the episode play out, even if you start in the middle of it.
Next to that, the only thing I have to say, that bothers me, is the way we never got more. The show was so good, I never forget it and come back from time to time to rewatch. I can highly recommend watching it, the series is easily found on YouTube in english language.
Pound Puppies: Beauty Is Only Fur Deep (2013)
The episode is mostly entertaining
The only thing I really dislike about it is, how Mr. McLeish is treated here. Of course the whole point of the episode is, that fur/hair is not at all that important and that all that matters is, that you remember, that you are not defined by your looks, but by your personality. However, on the other hand it's "oh, funny, McLeish is confident and cares now about the pound? Oh no! Let's take it away, making sure he doesn't feel all too self-conscious." Very funny indeed /s.
Yes, I know, no one should care as much, but I just can't but feel unhappy, when the comedy lies in having a character go through all that because of the funny. What is a kid to learn, then? When you threaten someone with your self-confidence, though all you do is be better, then you should not have it? Idk. I just dont like it.
Rest of the episode is good.
The lesson in it's self is good, but the way they treat McLeish is confusing.
Idiocracy (2006)
This really scared me for a bit
This movie was funny and scary at the same time. While it was amazing to look how the world would look like with only Karen's and Kevin's walking the earth where everyone is just dumber than the other, it was scary to think about the possibility of it happening in real life. However, it won't. Luckily we have been there before where people have been so dumb it hurts and either they died of their own stupidity, or there was actually someone who was born with a brain in their head, bettering their lives. I for sure see, some countries do experience similar situations as of right now like the USA and perhaps some others, but that doesn't mean it'll stay like that and it also doesn't have to get worse.
Not sure if anyone cares about that, but this scared me so much I though I'd share some words to anyone who felt the same. It ain't gonna happen for real, don't worry your heads, just situations similar to it might occur from time to time.
