Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne (2003)
The best movie-like gaming experience you will ever get.
I do not know how many times I have finished Max Payne 2, but you never get enough of it. It's outstanding story telling, sound effects, music and comic-like cut scenes provide a phenomenal atmosphere, which lasts throughout the game.
The plot is very well written and executed, the sound effects fit perfectly every action, voice acting and music is perfect. This has to be one of the best 3rd person shooters. Ever.
Only thing that could deserve a minus is the shortness and easy difficulty of the game.
9.5/10
The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
Wow.
A month back I thought I'd look for some good movies on IMDb again, and surprisingly saw that there was a new rookie in the Top 250 list. The shawnshank redemption. After checking that the movie plots fit my likings, I decided to give the "ahem ahem" version a shot. Sure I didn't expect it to beat my favorite movies, the godfather.. fight club.. terminator 2, but thought It'd be watchable as it had the titles I liked.
Then came weekend, and I sat down and watched the movie. I was immediately thrilled after first 30 minutes, and later on kept hoping It'd never end. But once the end came, I sat there, eyes a bit wet, and thought WOW. This truly was the best movie I've ever seen, beating everything else in the IMDb list.
Afterwards, I went and ordered the DVD (2 of 'em to cover my illegalness in the first place) and watched the extra contets as well. Truly a 1# of all time.
I'm going to miss Morgan Freeman when he leaves this world.
Staplerfahrer Klaus - Der erste Arbeitstag (2000)
Hilarious - yet educational
We watched this on vocational school (logistics line) yesterday and everyone laughed like hell.
We were expecting a boring, typical 70-80's educational video with an old dusty narrator in the background, and that's how it pretty much started. Then, after few gory details what not to do, everyone's interest rose up and most of the class started laughing in tears.
Everything in this video matches up, the music, actors, the setting - every part just makes this a great educational video, which really makes you learn what not to do with a forklift.
I just wish all of 'em videos were like this.
