There's no comparison with Mad Max.
30 May 2024
Well if you compare it with Mad Max, you will end up disappointed because there's no comparison. Mad max had better cinematography, better practical effects, better cgi blend and physics, better action sequences, way way better acting and way way way better soundtrack. Edition was flawless, the story was credible and most actions had a repercussion in the story. Last but not least Theron has more character than Taylor-Joy and she was also more believable as Furiosa. The new movie was enjoyable and I realize that it could have been worse, considering what has happened to other Hollywood "Second parts", however it could have easily been better, it should!, an that's a shame!. Before watching the movie I realized that might happen considering the actors they chose which are not actually good.

Summary: A total mess.
10 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
They should have known better, the script has so many plot holes that I lost the count at half the movie. Acting is poor, directing is poor, CGI is poor, puppetry is surprisingly poor, and the soundtrack is also poor. The sound mix and maybe the cinematography are the only things that maybe are worth it. First, they spit you every dinosaur you could imagine, only to forget about the dinosaur in the following take. Second, even while you already know it is a meaningless plot, you won't find continuity in it, third, the acting is so bad and fake that this movie could actually be entertaining as a comedy maybe? Fourth: The movie is so cheesy and boring that even from the beginning you lose empathy even with the dinosaurs themselves. Fifth: the dinosaurs have great textures but they lack physics which makes the first movie more believable than this one. Summary: Total mess, waste of money and time.

Not gonna lie, could have been great
18 February 2022
I'm not gonna lie, this show could have been great, The idea is quite compelling. However it lacks a nice script. People take useless and absurd decisions with every chapter starting on chapter 1. Suddenly you lose empathy for the characters and eventually you start to skip scenes. Finally you loose your interest in the show and the story, so you just stop watching it. Quite a shame actually.

No so great ideas
16 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The movie itself is too boring to even be a comedy but also to strange to even be a romantic drama. Is more like a mess with some musical. It has some kind of nice acting but the script doesn't work in any way to develop their feelings and story. Characters are not well interconnected you dont feel empathy for no one. The most charismatic character si Archie and hes not related in any way with the relationship within both youngsters.

Deserves way more atention
2 April 2021
Everything was great. Directing, acting, even the soundtrack and sound mix. It was all well done. Secondary characters were also great. It's been a while since I saw a Christian theme movie with so much quality in the story line... it actually feels like a movie should be. The script is so well achieved that you can easily submerge without you being Christian. You can understand and feel what the people in the movie feels and understand what drives them to do the things that they do. Summary it's a pleasant surprise. 100% recommended.

Christmas Wonderland (2018 TV Movie)

Kind of Terrible
8 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I just logged in to make justice to the movie with an honest review. It wasn't even my idea to watch the movie, it was my mom who started playing it on Netflix, and then she made me watch it when I was passing by. It has all the clichés you could ever imagine or expect in a romantic Christmas movie: a dance, a city girl, an ex-high school love, even a Christmas recital! This movie has it all packed in a two-hour length. The movie is so terrible it's funny. Like, it has so many clichés that you already know what is going to happen every second, and even when normal people wouldn't dare to do something or think the way the actors think or react... they keep making strange and nonsense actions just to fulfill the cliché. Poor acting, poor directing, poor script all in one big mess. Cannot recommend it. My mom loved it though so, maybe hallmark nows best.

Could have been better
13 August 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I really loved the intro part. I thought we may had a nice story. There was a great animation some soundtrack and a little character development in some of the pets even thought some might be known and proved stuff for this kind of movies. The minions parts or as i call the "filling time stuff" is hard to stand. That thing is getting old and some day it won't sell any more (hopefully) Will never be as good as Ice Age 1 Scrat ideas, and right now there are so many movies repeating this formula that is getting boring. Story and script could have been way way waaaay better. Instead, they offered "proved formulas" and boring ideas repeating it endlessly till the "end" and even after the end. They should have known better.

It was OK... could and should have been better.
1 January 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Poor, very poor CGI, (Except for the dragon, I think it was OK) There were some shots that you could clearly see they used a green or blue screen, poor CGI physics (which is way more important than the actual CGI; take Gollum, it wasn't that bad, but their movements where so real, people didn't care much at all about their looking. The only place where it looked fake I think it was in the extended Two Towers scene when Faramir almost choke him.

Pretty lame story, script and characters. (Including the affair and Legolas kicking bad instead of the dwarfs) I think Bilbo's acting was very nice, although it was way too short.

I thought it was going to be better. Not like LOTR, but we got Narnia style instead. The first one was better IMO. Even a decent soundtrack and camera movements-shots were missed here.

*Almost forgot: You could see some scenes were they changed to a different quality camera, this is specially true in the barrel sequence.

Bad idea
26 August 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I think it's a bad idea paying for watching this, if you get a tape, DVD or bl ray from a friend, you could watch it, your mind would think you're having some fun and in the end after all feel nothing, but if you pay, soon you will get annoyed when your realize that you paid for that sh! I think it deserves 3-4 out of 10, but i'm not giving it that score cause globally the movie was ranked so good I thought it was worth watching it, and it wasn't.

Maybe the only worth parts were the sex related scenes, some hot lingerie at the beginning, some tit ties and some pot.

Should have been better, considering the budget, cause the idea was OK... and the actors were also OK...

What we got here... Is failure to communicate...
18 June 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I found my self watching some other US Army movie, so close and similar to every movie Hollywood has give us in the last 15 years and so. The worst part of it, is that we have got used to watch this stuff, and we still support such incredible lack of imagination and ideas...

Basically we have some US marines saving the world... (Yes again, but they're not the same soldiers, except for some known faces who already saved the world) They couldn't communicate with the aliens so there your have it... WAR. This time is not the Independence Day but some other day; However I'm sure they could have perfectly named the movie "Independence Day 2: The revenge" or something like it.

Any way, it was kind of entertaining, plot was recycled, characters too, CGI, sounds, and special effects were "ok". I could have give it 5 stars, but they had some paranoic person driving the whole filming... It feels like being in a roller coaster through all the movie...

The camera its awful, irritating, frustrating... it has all those shaking and shifting until the end of the movie; just as same as those low quality TV remakes productions. That was embarrassing to see in a Hollywood "medium-high" budget film (70 million)

Besides that you get no story, just explosions, shootings, deaths, blood, etc... And finally you don't even get a clue of nothing... Don't even bother to pay for this, is not worth it.

I thought I'd seen everything, but I certainly haven't.
14 April 2009
I wish I could tell how wonderful was the movie. I didn't even feel it like a movie, It was like a tale. I also wish I could tell you how wonderful was not only to me, but all the people I know.

But I can't. First, because I don't actually know what did I feel.. And second, because I haven't show it to no one. I think I'll be a little jealous if I show the movie to my friends.

Why? Because the movie it's just so wonderful and lovely that I don't want to show it. If a friend says something bad against the movie, I would probably suck his blood out.

(And I don't want to kill a friend)

Summary:

I thought I was in love, but I wasn't. I thought I was scared, but I wasn't. I thought I was watching a vampire story, but I wasn't. I thought I'd seen everything, but I certainly haven't.

Maybe you will never realize what this movie was about, or how much it influenced you, but you will love it, and you won't easily forget about it, That's for sure.

Nice movie but a little tangled.
10 October 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Graphically and wonderfully made, it lacks of some nice guide just for you to follow the story. So it's kind of mixed up and has things you can't understand at all, even when you have had the opportunity of seeing other anime movies or anime in general. With a beautiful scenario, animation and and very wonderful score and soundtrack (which actually I liked more than the movie itself) Its an enjoyable movie but it has something in the plot and the way they create the movie that made it hard to watch. We have to consider that this movie was planned to be a series but it end up being a movie. That's why it is a little messy. And not to mention the annoying always moving camera which is something that has to be managed very carefully and with this movie they simply didn't care. Sometimes it was wonderful to fly over the city, however many times they abused of the camera movements and that's something I really hate. (besides being obviously annoying and dizzying)

However, the overall movie was quite good and watch-able, recommended for people who has seen anime before though.

It is quite simple to understand. Japanesse people have a great taste for animation, like almost any other culture around the world could have it. It's director (already famous by his OVAS) has give his best in the realization of the film, an adaptation for the novel "The songs of Distant Earth" by Arthur C. Clark. With a soundtrack directed by Tenmon and worthy of a whole master piece. Pure art, wonderfully made: history, scene, soundtrack, animation, voices, everything is perfect in Hoshi no Koe, even when the length of the movie is merely 20 min. In summary is just a superb piece! I just wanted to say that if you like animations, you want to taste something new, or simply fulfill the emptiness that commercial films shall never do; Hoshi no Koe is your film, and its a great option to enjoy with friends who appreciate fine art. I can assure you will enjoy every minute until the end. Recommended!
