Dredd (2012)
This one goes hard
When I watched this film for the first time I didn't even give it a chance, thinking it was a lame video game movie (forgive me, I didn't know what Judge Dredd was). DON'T MAKE THIS MISTAKE!
The second time I watched Dredd I was enjoying the entire time I was watching it.
Dredd has a lot of character. The world, the dystopia, the characters themselves are all interesting. The plot is simple but probably one of my favourite plots, because the characters are trapped in this massive building called a megablock and it's a kilometer tall, 200 storeys and houses 70.000 people. This gives the film a very crowded and busy feeling. The film is very graphic and hard which I realy like in the cyberpunk genre.
Judge Dredd is a token badass, but it's not annoying because he isn't protrayed as some invincible super hero, just someone who is extremely tough and doesn't care much for pain.
Watch this film if you can handle gore and sex and if you like badass fiction.
Intrusion (2021)
Ultimately boring
Intrusion tells a simple story with a satisfying conclusion.
The characters lack depth and they make unintelligent decisions which I usually don't mind but this one takes it a little too far, especially the wife, who was a little too dumb and naive to be a therapist or counsellor.
The relationship between the two main characters is probably the most well defind and deepest thing about this film.
There are enough tense moments and scares and the runtime is enough to keep your attention for the hour and a half.
But, the film lacks character and depth and fails to add its own flair to a well worn story to make itself very interesting (but interesting enough for a fun watch).
