I'm watching this in disbelief
1 April 2024
I am not sure I can finish this, they're interviewing these women that still fully believe in Warren Jeff. I kid you not, one of these women said "Uncle Warren just wanted to protect us" "the only thing he did that got some people agitated was to make us follow the rules" ... I am genuinely in disbelief. Way too much focus on the happy times and too little focus on this man having relations with children! I don't know if I should pity these women or blame them for letting these awful things happen right in front of their eyes and being brainwashed enough to sit here now and tell us how it was a magical time in their lives, like huuuh??????

Dedicated to Emily Blunt
19 February 2024
An accurate portrait of the book, amazing how they manage to show a human side to everyone involved in the making of something that killed over 100 thousand people.

I'd like to applaud Emily Blunt from my living room! She had less screen time than most but left an everlasting impact as Kitty. Her character portrayal was so good and so spot on, it made me instantly start researching more about Oppenheimer's wife! I was curious as to what type of role Blunt would be playing after seeing what they did to Florence Pugh, but oh my god she did not disappoint! Nor did Florence, by the way! I just think she's capable of being as impressive clothed as she is naked, more actually, if only directors gave her that opportunity.

And yet, here we are again...

POWERFUL watch, specially now. Certain quotes will stay with me forever. It's so rare to find the kid's side of the story in this conflict, they're constantly used as media lure but no one hears FROM THEM.

Here you see them telling their story through their eyes, you don't hear much of the incidents, just enough. What they really focus on is the aftermath, the impact this has on people too young to fully understand what's happening.

Perfect, for people who don't understand what the situation was prior to the latest events, really shows you the hopelessness these children were already living in.

It's alright, but it could've gone deeper.

I didn't really learn anything new from the documentary, I was expecting a web of lies to be exposed on Russ, or for it to have more appalling footage that would make other people aware of how crazy things can get there. It seemed bland for the content you were working with, it could've been more shocking to draw a bigger audience which would probably have the ratings here a little bit higher too.

I was really hoping they were going to focus on the fact that Russ is obsessed with filming everything and where is the most extreme footage going to? How is he funding all this? I feel like we all know the answer to these questions and were hoping the documentary would provide proof of it.

The stars are for the victims.
24 October 2023
Could be a little bit more fast paced, no?

I'm rather desensitized to true crime, but even I thought this documentary was a bit insensitive. There was barely any talk about the victims and the people they interviewed basically vouched for the killer, praising him and at times almost. It's upsetting, honestly.

I think considering the amount of victims, witnesses, hearsay, personnel involved, the same place used and same people being targeted, everyone agrees that the police dropped the ball, maybe they should've focused more on that? If you're not gonna focus on the killers life, on any of the victims lives, then focus on what went wrong, right?

So much potential!
24 October 2023
They set a premises of mystery and suspense that gets you so excited for what's about to come! The story seems like a relatively new concept too. Unfortunately, from then on we get a cliche of a teenage horror movie, people die when you think they're gonna die, no more surprises and the ending is beyond disappointing, it's almost like they ran out of money for production in the last 20 minutes of the movie.

Besides all of this, the amount of nudity and sexualization of the teenage girl (I know the actress is not a teenager) in the movie is so unnecessary, in some scenes I understand how it could be used to cause disturbance to the viewers but most of the nude or sexual scenes were completely uncalled for and pointless to the actual story with it's only intention being value of shock which loses its purpose when used that frequently!!

Zzzz snooze fest
22 October 2023
I'm typing this and the movies still has 18 minutes left because I'm so bored. Everyone got off the couch, even my dogs 😅 it's just so obvious from the beginning, there's nothing innovating or shocking or mysterious about this movie. Anyone that has seen more than 2 horror movies or 1 psychological thriller in their lifetime can guess the full plot within 20 minutes of the movie. Then they just keep repeating several scenes, over and over again, it got absolutely unbearable and extremely obvious.

I gave it 4 stars only because I got 2 jump scares during it, props to the editing for that, considering one of the scares was just birds flying away lol.

I mean, huh???
22 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Ok 1st of all, This was the ONLY movie from the trilogy where I did not get ANY jump scares, zero, zit, none! And that was one of the main appeals of the franchise, a lot like grave encounters.

Secondly, they briefly show and mention the last Morning Mystery reporter in front of the Abaddon hotel but they never reveal what happened to her, it doesn't seem mysterious it just seems poorly written.

I'm not even gonna comment on the special effects/CGI besides saying yikes.

Last but not least, who is Russel? He shows up out of nowhere looking like Scarface, then they give him the backstory of an angel that will close the gates? And who was saved in the opening day of insomnia? The whole cast and audience or just Vanessa and Jeff?? I'm pretty sure we see Vanessa die before the fight even ensues so how is she out of the house while the rest are trapped in it?

Ma (I) (2019)
8/10
It might not be a 10 but it's deff not a 5!
17 October 2023
I thought the whole plot was so innovating! I have not seen any movies like this, everything about it was brand new to me! And the comical parts were on point! I really don't know why the overall rate for Ma here is 5, but that movie might've even been a 9 on my book! The performance by Octavia Spencer as Sue Ann was spectacular! I usually can't stand comedy/horror but this was great! She was hilarious but also scary (?) it was a hard role to play and I think she killed it!

Like I previously said, this was the first time in a long time where all the elements in a movie seemed new and were still as surreal and shocking as some of the old concepts we're used to!

Why the hate??
17 October 2023
I'm not sure all this hate is called for... as a fan of the Scream franchise, I enjoyed the movie! It's a lot like the first Scream movies, several plot twists, several suspects, fast paced, a web of lies falling apart quite quickly that explain part of the story while also leaving you with more questions. I think the dissatisfaction mainly comes from the people that saw this in the theaters and in 3D and thought it was not worth it, and I'll agree with that part, if I had watched this in the movie theater and payed extra to get 3D, I would've been disappointed too.

In conclusion: Good horror flick that follows a similar story line to Scream, but I'm not complaining!

Lost my interest the less believable it got
2 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Spoilers alert!

I'm not one to be like "oh that's inconsistent with reality" in movies because, well, it's a movie lol but the scene where he puts her in restrains that are clip ons and that she can clearly reach and unclip herself, and eventually does, was way too ridiculous lol loose rope, fabric, anything would've been better than that toys r us cuffs lol Ok that was my breaking point but now that we got that out of the way, I should also mention Chloe and the Coroner (main characters) don't ever sync up their acting, the movie fails as a suspense and it's few dramatic scenes usually had a soundtrack on the background to make it obvious.

At least it didn't have fake looking organs and CGI and I like Jerry O'Connel for that type of role so that was nice.
