Skymed (2022)
Nothing New
The first season was enjoyable. I really liked the setting and the concept. The characters had good chemistry. The second season was different. The writers were just shoving politics into practically every storyline. The characters seemed to lose their chemistry. They didn't seem genuine in their relationships. The only relationship that seemed noble and worth watching was blown up at the very beginning on season two. I found myself forcing myself to watch it to "get it over with" rather that watching it because I enjoyed it. Can we all acknowledge Hollywood is very politically correct and get on with good storylines, again?
Chip Chilla (2023)
Finally!
The long awaited Bentkey is here. Chip Chilla is similar to Bluey, but not as funny. However, Rob Schneider does have some pretty funny moments. I also like that the family is closer in size to my family, and not the "perfect" two kids family, relating more to my children. I personally would have given it a seven, but my children really enjoyed it and that is who the target audience is, hence the eight score. My four year old already wants to have a Chip Chilla birthday party. I say well done Dailywire. It is finally content I do not have to look over with a fine tooth comb to make sure children's programming is appropriate for...wait for it...children. Thank you.
Firefly Lane (2021)
Strong Start, Weak Ending
I really enjoyed the first two seasons. It was a good story with good chemistry. It had moments that
made me laugh, cry, and feel for them during those awkward teen years (well at least for Kate). The last season was disappointing. It did a very good job veering to the side practically every current show does, the left. It seems that's all writers know how to do these days. They had it throughout the series. However, it seemed to be hit even harder in season 3, particularly the last two episodes. If you're someone that worships the moon and thinks a major part of life is an amazing roll in the sack, then you'll thoroughly enjoy it. If not, I would recommend not finishing the series. It was empty and seemed to miss the whole point of life. There was no talk about God (which is no surprise with Hollywood) all the focus was each other, even when they were facing traumatic events. There was no one (not even husbands/boyfriends) that mattered more to the two women than each other. Overall, it left me feeling empty and bummed I wasted time watching grown women dance for the moon, an inanimate object.
