A WELL DONE sequel!
25 December 2023
Let's be honest if you're over 30 than you've seen the original once if not annually on Christmas Day. It does a great job of nostalgia to the original film. A lot of the original characters return and the style of jokes are the same. It's a great addition to any Christmas movie marathon.

It did take me a little bit to realize it was the 70s because think one of publishers mentions email. Some of the extras look more like retro 70s from the 90s when that came back but that's being picky. I do wish the actress that played the mom in the original had taken the role but I know she was in good health and passed away a few months after this release. Overall a good dedication to Darren McGavin.

It's True Lies if it had a sequel seties

Arnold and Monica work well together as the father daughter dynamic. Arnold gets to tell plenty of Dad jokes and the cast around him works. Adding Jay Baruchel as the daughter's boyfriend is the perfect foil to Arnold's macho exterior. Milan Carter's character quirky interests and behavior supplies plenty of future jokes. Fortune and Travis are also perfect complements to the father to daughter dynamic. It a relatable show because everyone's work conflicts with having a family similar to True Lies. There's plenty of material and jokes to be made. I think you can't take this show too serious just like Chuck. You have suspend some practicality because it's a funny concept that audiences should enjoy.

Movie doesn't go anywhere
27 May 2023
I thought I give this a try since it's a retro back to the 80s type movie but a lot of it doesn't make sense. First who in their mid 30s goes back to their high school to give a commencement speech. Also what principal is allowing an adult to go to classes/hang out with kids; creepy idea. Weird that he goes to prom and takes a prom photo with an 18 year old and her parents are ok with it? I get the idea but it was sloppy written and he gets beat up an gym coach & does nothing? Seems like this should of been written better & keep the focus on Winona relationship. Also why is there this time away after their major kiss? She never rejected him but there's this "thing that he has to get over"? Also they're both in love with each but he just going back to NYC? Seems like somethings were missed in the ending.
