Fast Color (2018)
Very interesting ... It appeared to be a prequel to a future movie or TV show
Many reviewers don't see the bigger picture with this movie and gave poor ratings based on other movies giving audiences a quickie in their seats.
Fast Color provided the background information for a sequel or a TV spinoff that would be very entertaining.
We learn all of the characters and get a taste of the potential of their powers.
The idea that people can just think to cause changes in the physical world is novel and amazing. Too many movies and TV shows have characters do comical things like point their hand at objects to cause them to move/blow up/disintegrate when the power is in their mind. This movie drops that pretense.
I hope they make a sequel.
The Matt Walsh Show (2018)
Poseur Matt Walsh proves the right is Poorly Educated
Matt Walsh is another pseudo-intellectual, like Ben Shapiro, Jordan Peterson and Chris Rufo, that tries to put an intellectual face on conservative racism, sexism, homophobia, bigotry, etc. To fool stupid republican voters that don't know they are being conned with an appeal to authority.
Matt along with Shapiro, Peterson, and Rufo are dangerous to America because they get paid to con poorly educated Americans with unsupported arguments.
This set of conservative poseurs have proven the saying. There's a sucker born every minute.
Reservation Road (2007)
Parent Fails their own child but the movie wants us to blame someone else
A parent knowingly lets their child stand on the side of a 35 mph road to let fireflies free. Repeat that to yourself.
The movie wants us to get caught up in the drama of the parent that let this happen act as if they didn't put their child in mortal danger by letting him stand on the side of a road.
Worse is the movie shows the worst behavior between divorced parents and parents that can't accept their own bad or incompetent actions.
The children in this situation should have asked to be emancipated from such toxic people.
Four Games in Fall (2020)
Excellent Documentary detailing the Criminal Actions of Roger Goodell and Fake Science for Hire
This documentary shows the science to prove "DeflateGate" was a made up scandal by Roger Goodell.
They show how fake science for hire is permeating all facets of American life to curb lawsuits where real people were victims of sports leagues, manufactured products, or issues in congress.
Criminals.
Altered Carbon: Broken Angels (2020)
Fantastic End to Another Great Season
The season finale was great. People who think Season 2 was weak should turn in their Sci-Fi cards.
The Comey Rule (2020)
Excellent .. It shows many WEAK PEOPLE that let Criminal Trump Coerce them
The facts are accurate. Numerous examples of Trump's egomaniacal efforts to cover up his crimes, corrupt others were made clear, and seek retribution against those that bring his crimes to light.
The thing that is made most clear is that too many people that don't have the stones to tell Criminal Trump to stick it.
Power (2014)
Wow are viewers so easily CONNED .. This Show is AWFUL !!!
This show is a CLOWN ACT. Low rent wannabe criminals that even the audience wants to see killed. WEAK
White Boy Rick (2018)
White Boy Rick was SHOT in the 1st minute of the movie
Only a complete IDIOT thought this movie was a good idea. The character White Boy Rick would have shot in the 1st few minutes of the movie rather than when he did later on.
Generally a movie tries to make you pick a character that you like and want to root for. A protagonist. This movie has none. I sat there thinking "I don't care if everyone in the whole movie dies." Not because I'm sick but because NONE of them were worthy of liking. They are all horrible people that the world would not miss if capped. Welcome to REALITY people.
Shooter: Red Light (2018)
Great Season Finale
The episode was great. The team finished finished off Atlas, took out Red Bama, and got rid of Swagger's wife. Her character was awful from the beginning. She vacillated between support for Bob Lee and hating Bob Lee. This series doesn't need that personal life nonsense. It's dead air each episode.
John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017)
John Wick where the RULES are only selectively followed
They made a big deal about following the "business" rules in a gentlemen like manner to keep the security/assassins from killing each other and the important people they protect. The security/assassins know the rules. If someone calls in a marker then the order is to be followed. If they disobey then they are killed by other assassins. John Wick 2 goes back and forth whether if he wants to follow these rules.
The audience needs to suspend belief that a marker can be placed on a current member of the ruling board. No Way. That would mean everyone on the ruling board could be killed every day. No stability. MANURE. That would make all "rules" meaningless and it would defeat the intent of having a crook ruling board since they would be killed often. Order breeds stability and safety.
The non-stop action was weak. The movie made it seem as if there were 1000s of henchmen ready and waiting to engage in the fight. Come on.
I gauge a movie based on how much I wanted all of the main characters to die. If I want them all to die then the movie is a ZERO. I wanted every character in John Wick 2 to die. A full ZERO rating.
The Hitman's Bodyguard (2017)
It Might Have Been Good ... if the script were good
The entire story line was poor. A hitman needing another hitman to escort him to the court in the Hague? Govts have police for this not just 1 person.
The worst part about this move are the fake romantic relationships that were supposed to believe. Reynolds with Elodie Yung that supposedly happened before our story begins. Jackson's relationship with Salma Hayek before our story begins. Neither relationship is ongoing during the movie. We're just supposed to accept it though it the the motivation for each's character. What? Yeah.
This was supposed to be a 2 man buddy movie where we never get the feeling they even know each other. They could have bother shot each other and I wouldn't have minded at all. It would have save me 2 hours of time.
Then there is the 40 minute lull of nothing about 45 minutes into the movie. No action. No one getting laid. Nothing. A 2 hour movie should not have long dull periods. They could have cut the movie down to 1:25.
At the end of the move, I wondered what they were trying to accomplish with this movie. Was it about the relationships of hitmen? No. We already had the whole 9 yards and it was better. Was it about cool hitmen? No. We already had Hitman.
Watching Samuel L Jackson clown on people (including Ryan Reynolds) was BORING from minute 1.
White Famous (2017)
White Famous is NOT a Comedy ... It's a Docudrama about Hollywood
White Famous is categorized as a comedy. It's not. It's a docudrama that is heavy on the drama. Bringing to light how white dominated Hollywood controls and portrays black actors. The shows attempts to be funny by having the main character sometimes looking at the camera with a smirk. Yeah. We've never seen that before. Do we really need another show that exposes racism in Hollywood? Especially since this show does it in super slow motion. So slow motion that you fall asleep. Sadly there is no fixing this show. It was broken right from episode 1. I would cancel it now before wasting another dollar for production.
Behind the Candelabra (2013)
REALLY? Good Reviews? Liberace? LOL!
Liberace was a douche. He's even worse on film. Only the 70-80s lax era protected him. Liberace was every reason that idiot Christian crazies deny REALITY. Liberace embarrassed the LGBT community with his predator behavior. Liberace was not a mean man but he was a complete DOUCHE that bought @SS. I'm completely shocked that no one capped his @ss in Vegas. Separate the sexuality. He was a douche that thought $$$ bought him the right to use people. He was a maggot.
House of Cards: Chapter 64 (2017)
This season's episodes make you think assassination is a Legit option by multiple characters
One of the things that had always bothered my about this series is that there are many people that choose to violate themselves and know that Underwood violated the law. Both Underwoods would have been busted in season 1 if it were the real world. The entire story is a Con Job. On a story level the series ended on day 1 too. Underwood never had an agenda. He was always about evading responsibility for something. P#ss poor story writing.
The Nice Guys (2016)
The Nice Guys = A Disjointed Hot Mess
The Nice Guys is one of the worst movies that I have ever watched. It was a bunch of unconnected nonsense. It was not funny at all.
A 13 year old girl is leading the "P.I.s"? Give us a break .. if the daughter had been 21 then maybe but not 13yrs old. And in the 70s, a 13yr old girl would have been fresh meat at a Hollywood Hills porn party.
The most nonsensical story line was the DOJ chief's daughter made a "porn" movie and inserted into a promotional film to be played at a car show? Are you kidding me?
The only part of the movie that I like is when Amelia was shot. Yes .. Something believable happened in that moment.
Even with all of the action in the movie, I kept waiting for something important to happen.
Bone Tomahawk (2015)
Boring and Slow for 75% plus the bad story .. Spend 2 hours elsewhere
When you dislike all of the movie appointed protagonists, it becomes difficult to like a movie. Every character in the movie was worthy of being hated or disliked. Yes .. Even Chicory.
The stupid premise that some cliff dwelling supernatural beings were so upset with a robber that desecrated their burial ground that they traveled 3 to 4 days .. probably 75 miles .. to kill the guy and abduct the female doctor that treated him for a gunshot wound is laughable.
I was hoping like many other bad horror movies that every character would be killed. Yes .. it was that bad .. the good reviews must have been from people from the studio.
Now You See Me (2013)
Now You See Me ... Is a Great Movie ..
The laughable reviews bagging on this movie makes you wonder if the reviewers are crystal meth users. They're empty criticism exposes them as pseudo intellectual internet critics that have nothing better to do with their time. Worse is they failed to use the brain in their head and enjoy a real good movie.
Magic is supposed to be fun an exciting .. and this movie has a lot of fun. The movie also through in a big dash of intelligence and humor as well. The magic tricks and their explanations were excellent. The great cast and acting were excellent.
I can't wait to watch the sequels ..
Chappie (2015)
Entertaining BUT .. a modern cheesy Australian Robocop
Clearly Chappie is a modern day Robocop. They ripped off the story line. Weapons\Security maker that makes robots to police the streets. They copied the prototype police force. Robocop .. then they copied the overkill police response in the Moose robots .. Really? You know .. the one in the scene from Robocop that shoots the business geek to death during the That unimaginative?
They tried to dress up the movie with the philosophical crap of "What is consciousness" (Ghost in the machine) .. "We can transfer consciousness" from one machine to another. Weak.
That this movie is a 7 rating as of 8/13/15 is a joke.
Jackman and Weaver must have been paid all of the $49 million budget because there was little creative thought put into this movie.
Between Us (2012)
10 Minutes of Actual Material Stretched out to 90 minutes ..
I read the reviews for Between US before I watched the movie. The reviews were the extremes. All good or all bad. Well I lean to the all bad end of the scale.
There was a severe lack of material for this movie so the director tried to stretch 10 minutes of real material to fill a 90 minute movie.
There is a blowout argument between people who were friends\coexistors from college where they air things they think about each other. The depth of the conversations was amazing considering they were not life long friends. They were just college friends\coexistors. But they get really personal with their attacks on each other.
I also had a hard time believing the couples were really couples. The couples savage each other as well. What?
The distracting back and forth changes in time were very confusing. They show our characters sad then happy then sad again without showing us why we needed to know that? OK. Things were bad at one time then good at others in their lives. We all know that.
This movie is a 100% pass.
The Break-Up (2006)
The Story line is Beyond Poor ... At least Sell us that they are in a real relationship
Alright .. short synopsis .. Guy and girl experiencing dating problems who live together ...
Well the movie opens with their relationship on the rocks .. no reference to when times were good making it seem like things we never good between them. Ummm .. that gives the audience no reason to care when as their relationship crumbles. So all the nasty crap they do and say to each other as the couple tries to move on makes the audience feel awkward. Like you are seeing something you should not.
The audience is really left saying "BREAK UP ALREADY" ... of course it takes a rising level of teenage antics for the two to break up and move out of their shared condo .. then they see each other on the street months later and everything is OK ... like they realized that they just weren't meant for each other .. maybe .. you also get the impression that maybe they wish they had done things differently .. maybe .. but like I said .. the movie never let us see the good times letting us believe that this relationship was never going to work
Now my take on what the movie was supposed to convey ..
That not all relationships work out however you can grow from them to become better people.
The movie could have done a better job showing this ... hence my 2 rating
About Time (2013)
The Trailer was better than the Movie ..
I had expectations from the trailer that this would be a tale of a protagonist that had some social shortcomings and how time travel would help him overcome them to fall in love.
Instead the movie appeared to be a quest by our protagonist to appear smooth and suave with women in manufactured relationship. Our protagonist Tim pursues two young women\girls in the film. One was puppy love that never comes to fruition and the other was completely manufactured by the time travel. I never saw a connection between Tim and Mary. We're supposed to believe that they fall in love with each other the very first day they meet. That was a bit much to believe. Worse is that he uses the time travel to manufacture the relationship. That's not love it's a guy manipulating someone.
Tim appeared like a needy guy who didn't want to do anything to screw up and end a relationship. He did screw up and end the relationships on multiple occasions but with the time travel he went back and fixed it. Funny but the relationship came off as not genuine.
The relationship between Tim and his dad appeared very genuine from beginning to end. That was the strength of this movie.
I actually thought our hero Tim would be forced to sacrifice his manufactured relationship with Mary with something important that would require him to time travel back before meeting Mary or having his children. There was a chance for this with his sister's accident or his father's death but Tim chooses to help himself instead which left me disappointed that everything was so easy.
This movie had potential but it took the road most traveled.
