Resident Evil 4 (2023)
One of my favorite games
Resident Evil 4 Remake is a faithful reimagining of a classic that has left an indelible mark on gaming history. As a longtime fan who has completed the game 10+ times before, I hadn't considered reviewing it until now, so better late than never i guess.
Resident Evil 4 has held a special place in my heart for years, and I've journeyed through its nightmarish world time and time again. As a die-hard fan who adores the original, I was both excited and apprehensive about this remake when it was released.
The remake's stunning graphics breathe new life into familiar environments and characters. The level of detail and realism is astonishing, captivating players with its visual splendor. The improved lighting, particle effects, and character animations add depth and immersion to the game, making it a benchmark for modern remakes.
Resident Evil 4 Remake retains the core gameplay elements that made the original iconic while introducing modern improvements. The over-the-shoulder aiming and refined combat mechanics make for more engaging and responsive gameplay. The updated inventory system seamlessly blends nostalgia with convenience, enabling strategic item management.

The modifications to the story elements ensure that players, both newcomers and long-time fans well-versed in the original narrative, are captivated by the game's unfolding events. The script and pacing have been meticulously fine-tuned to maintain a relentless grip on players, creating an atmosphere of tension and engagement that is unbroken throughout the game.

Alan Wake II (2023)
A beautifully crafted masterpiece
As an avid fan of the original Alan Wake, which still holds a special place in my heart as one of my all-time favorite games. The first game had been a masterpiece in its own right, a unique blend of psychological thriller, intense combat, and an engrossing narrative. I wasn't quite sure if the sequel could surpass the magic of the original. However, after completing Alan Wake 2, I can confidently say that my expectations were not only met but exceeded in ways I couldn't have imagined. Remedy Entertainment has clearly poured an incredible amount of effort into this game, and it's evident from the very beginning.
While the first game heavily focused on combat against the menacing Taken, the sequel takes a different approach. This time, there's much less emphasis on action and more on the narrative, resulting in a game that feels like a gripping, psychological thriller novel brought to life. While it's great that they made it very narratively structured, some may find it overly so. Personally, I find it enjoyable.
The narrative in Alan Wake 2 is a true standout. The story is intricately woven, filled with mysterious twists, and leaves you constantly on the edge of your seat. The way it delves into the psyche of the titular character and explores the blurred lines between reality and his own mind is a masterstroke of storytelling. It's a narrative-driven experience that immerses you in the complex, enigmatic world of Alan Wake like never before.
From the moment I fired up the game, I was immediately drawn into its dark, mysterious world. The atmosphere is absolutely captivating, and it's clear that Remedy have gone to great lengths to create an immersive and intriguing setting. The visuals are stunning, and the attention to detail in the game's environment is commendable.
The gameplay mechanics grab your attention with their captivating and outstanding qualities, showcasing a perfect balance of creativity and expertise that ensures an immensely enjoyable gaming experience. Furthermore, the controls are exceptionally smooth and responsive, ensuring effortless navigation and object interaction within the game world. The introduction of fresh gameplay elements and mechanics enhances the overall experience, making it more dynamic and immersive when compared to the original title.
My experience with Alan Wake 2 has truly captivated me. The game's world, narrative, and the meticulous work that Remedy poured into it are abundantly clear. If you loved the first Alan Wake or enjoy immersive, narrative-driven games, Alan Wake 2 is a must-play. To ensure you get the most out of the game, I recommend starting with Alan Wake I or, alternatively, watching a comprehensive recap of its story before diving into this sequel. While Alan Wake 2 might pose a bit of a challenge for beginners, I still highly suggest trying the game out, as it has its magic moments that are truly worth experiencing firsthand.
In summation, whether you're a long-time fan or new to the series, Alan Wake 2 promises an engaging and satisfying experience that transcends its predecessor.
Spider-Man 2 (2023)
Great game, but wouldn't call it a masterpiece
As a long-time fan of the Spider-Man franchise, my expectations were cautiously optimistic when diving into Spider-Man 2. I was met with a familiar experience, which, surprisingly, didn't leave me disappointed in the slightest. The game manages to strike a delicate balance between retaining what we loved about its predecessor and introducing several new features and improvements that keep the franchise fresh.
The game's strong suit remains its exhilarating traversal system. Swinging through the beautifully rendered streets of New York City remains an absolute joy. The physics and animations of Spider-Man's movements are still top-notch, capturing the essence of being a superhero. Combat, too, continues to offer a satisfying mix of fluidity and depth, letting you pull off impressive acrobatics while pummeling foes. The combat, I must say, is excellent.
Graphically, Spider-Man 2 doesn't disappoint. The cityscape is teeming with life and detail, making it a joy to explore. The character models look great, although i don't think they exhibit the same that we saw in the original game. It's almost as if they played it safe in that department.
The game's narrative also doesn't disappoint. It weaves a compelling and emotional story, delving into Peter Parker's life and the complex relationships he juggles as both Spider-Man and a regular citizen.
However, the elephant in the room remains the game's IMDb ratings, which I believe have been inflated beyond what it truly deserves. While Spider-Man 2 is undoubtedly a great gaming experience, it's essential to remember that IMDb scores always are being skewed by the overwhelming popularity of superhero-themed games. Comparing it to a perfect masterpiece like The Witcher is an injustice to the latter. The Witcher's intricate storytelling, vast open world, and rich character development set it apart in the realm of gaming. Although Spider-Man 2 is a great game, it shouldn't be near the same score as The Witcher, and it's unfortunate to see it positioned in such proximity.
Spider-Man 2 is undoubtedly fun, but let's all be real; it doesn't at all belong on the same pedestal as Geralt's epic adventures.
Spider-Man 2 is undoubtedly a good game, offering a thrilling and engaging experience for fans of the web-slinging superhero. However, it falls just short of reaching the status of a masterpiece. While it successfully captures the essence of being Spider-Man, with its fantastic web-swinging mechanics, engaging combat, and a well-crafted narrative, it doesn't quite break new ground or redefine the gaming medium.
A masterpiece in the gaming world often pushes the boundaries of storytelling, gameplay, and immersion, leaving an indelible mark on the industry. While Spider-Man 2 is a highly enjoyable and well-crafted experience, it doesn't quite reach the same level of innovation or impact as some of the true gaming masterpieces. It's a really good game for fans of the character and the series, but it doesn't rewrite the rules of the medium or set a new gold standard for gaming as a whole.
In conclusion, If you're a Spidey fan looking for more of the same, you'll be satisfied.
Cyberpunk 2077 (2020)
One of the best games I've ever experienced
Cyberpunk 2077 is a testament to the potential of redemption in the gaming industry. While it undoubtedly had a rough start with a problematic launch, CD Projekt Red has managed to turn things around and transform this game into an absolute masterpiece.
Cyberpunk 2077 is nothing short of a masterpiece in terms of its storytelling, world-building, and character development. The narrative is a gripping tale of ambition, survival, and the search for identity. The moral dilemmas you face and the choices you make have real consequences, making for a truly immersive experience.
Visually, Cyberpunk 2077 is a triumph. The game's Night City is a breathtaking, meticulously crafted metropolis that oozes with atmosphere. The neon-soaked streets, towering skyscrapers, and the diversity of the city's districts make it a truly immersive and captivating environment. Character models and facial animations are exceptionally well done, and the game's attention to detail is nothing short of impressive.

It's a masterpiece in terms of storytelling and world-building, and Night City is a mesmerizing place to explore.
