Breathtaking.

Having just watched this film, I can't stop thinking about it. Everything about it is simply sublime. A professional and hard to fault job as usual from Fincher, one of the great Directors. Performances from the leading two were incredible ; I couldn't take my eyes off of Cate Blanchett, even when she did get older. Locations, colour palette and score are magnificently assembled. It is a shame that this is slipping down the Top 250, it should be right up there, certainly with Slumdog Millionaire. It may well be compared to Forrest Gump, but it appeals on so many levels, and in different ways that it will make it on it's own. A hauntingly beautiful picture that I am not going to be able to stop thinking about any time soon.

Ah the memories......

Just from reading the blurb on the back of this film's DVD cover, I knew i was going to love it. After spending three of my childhood years in a similar place in South west France, I felt connected to this film. It shows you that you can have everything you have ever wished for, but still not be content. The backdrop for this film is absolutely stunning. How anyone could inherit that house and not want to keep it, I do not know. I thought that the whole thing with Fanni and Max in the swimming pool as children was cheesy, but it all added to the romance of this story. Watch this if you love France, or if you love romance stories.

What a fantastic series!!!!

I must say that I thought the idea of ordinary people with strange powers all, that were all linked together in some way in New York was quite silly. Then I started to watch it. I love the way that everything is linked up, and the screen shots at some stages are amazing. The addicted painter is great as the unbeknowing "god" of the series. He could actually be described as the all-powerful cockroach.Hiro Nakamura is my favourite character, as he plays the underestimated nerd who has to warn New York of it's terrible fate. He has a certain quirkiness about him, and is instantly likable. The most sinister of the characters is the blonde single mum. She has a very confusing Jekkl & Hyde character, that is developed through the series. This is a must-see series that would grab the imaginations of most people so just go and see it.It is a bit more sinister though than what it would appear to be from the commercials.

What a fantastic film!!!

I have never seen a more meaningful and thought-provoking film. Right from the start, I knew this was going to be a classic film, and my opinion was not changed throughout the course of the movie one bit. It delivers such a strong message of fear, survival and hope, that leaves your mind devoted to thinking about it for a long while after. It made me think about all my creature comforts, and what is actually necessary in life. Talking to a volleyball has never been more dramatic! I also loved the fact that there was little talking in the film, maybe that was because i was staying in a hotel in France with french TV, but anyway, it sort of made you guess how he was feeling, in a clever way. This is one of my all time favourite films, and I could watch it again and again without getting bored... so go and watch it...NOW!!

The most crap film I have ever seen!!!!!

Warning: Spoilers
I am being generous with my vote by the way. Anyway onto the film. I have never seen a film with this amount of coincidences. Everything happened one after the other in the most predictable way. The way that Pierce and the others managed to climb through a most convenient hole in the fence right next to an unlocked car that did not even explode or seem to take any damage whatsoever whilst driving over boiling magma, that he was able to hot-wire(what the hell)!! The film had the most predictable plot ever, I had a job to stay awake throughout the whole film. Do NOT see this film, do something worthwhile instead, like go to sleep.

Does this film snatch your imagination or what?

This is my first review on this website so bare with me! I was really excited about seeing this film as people had been telling me about it for years. I wasn't really sure what to expect at first, but it soon became clear that it was a fantastic film.

The blackmail, the mindless violence, and of course, the cockney slang all made this movie a classic London gangster case. I thought that the camera shots all added to the live effect and made it all the more real.

The storyline was fantastic, twisting and turning throughout the whole time. It never once bored me, and all the characters acted to the best the of their abilities, including the star of the show, Brad Pitt.

I would recommend this film to anyone who likes London gangster flicks. You will not be let down.
