She's Out of My League is nothing we really haven't seen before by any means. The hot (and I mean WOW) girl likes the nerd, nerd can't believe it, they have an awkward date, fall in love, the awful family members who are embarrassing, experience major conflict, overcome conflict with the help of their friends, live happily ever after. The difference between this and many like it is this movie is actually pretty funny. It's not afraid to be a little bit and some very raunchy. This is laugh out loud humor, not pretentious "clever humor." I'm not opposed to clever humor but I've always believed clever isn't always funny and funny isn't always clever and this is a prime example.

If you want a good laugh with a familiar theme this is a good movie. The characters' personalities are pretty much what you are used to, but I promise this one is very funny.

I honestly expected one of the worst big budget blockbusters that I've ever seen. I was pleasantly surprised a little but not that much. It's always easy to say a movie is very good because it's not as bad as I expected, but this certainly wasn't a very good movie.

First of all the dialogue didn't suck near as bad in the first installment (thank God Anthony Anderson was not asked to come back) Next I actually did laugh a few times, only once though I think it was intended. Great visuals, decent story, some good performances.

Now the bad. I think most will agree this was WAAAAAAY too long. This would have been a much more effective film if at least 45 minutes was left on the cutting room floor. There were a lot of scenes that served zero purpose for the plot of the story. In fact most of the first 30 minutes could have been shot in one or two short scenes.

Overall: I think 5/10 is about right leaning more toward less than half. This is definitely a case where less would have been more as far as quality. Mostly it's like a beautiful woman who's a complete moron, who's dumb enough to be a turnoff but so gorgeous she can't be ignored.

Final Thought: Isabel Lucas WHOOOOOOOOAH is she hot.
