Meet Cute (2022)
I absolutely loved this movie.
Honestly, I absolutely loved this movie and I will definitely watch it again. I was first drawn to the film because I saw Pete Davidson in the thumbnail and I usually really enjoy his films/shows. This film is not an exception. At the start, I did think it was gonna be a cute little rom-com but it actually turned out to be more of a drama, which I'm not mad about. I actually liked that they decided not to go that predicatable route. And despite the film's dark nature, it still has its funny moments. I think Pete and Kaley were fantastic in the film. I was impressed by their perfromances.
Although, I do think the film could have taken it even further and sometimes moved a bit too fast. There were moments where I felt that there was definitely something missing and needed more explanation/development which is why I decided to give it 9 points instead of 10.
All in all, I was positively surprised by this film and I just love it.
Good Mourning (2022)
People miss the point of this movie
I feel like people are missing the point of this movie. It's not supposed to be an exceptionally well written or critically acclaimed movie. It's an old school movie that you watch on your couch, smoking weed and start giggling stupidly about the silly humour. It doesn't pretend to belong among the ranks of 'the parasite' or whatever oscar winning movie. It doesnt take itself too seriously and should be compared to films such as 'How high' or 'Harold and Kumar' cause that's what this films aims to be. And for that, I think it's done very successfully. Films like that don't really exist anymore so I did feel nostalgic watching it.
The only thing I want to say is that the acting isn't the best, which I found weird having watch other films stating MGK and he usually performs great. So this was probably intetional and is only supposed to add to the film.
Taurus (2022)
A bit slow but still a good movie
Let me start off my saying as a die hard MGK fan, I really wanted to like this film and I did. In many many ways it was beautiful and tragic and I can acknowledge all the work and passion he put into this film. It wasn't bad at all. The premise is great. And the title track is even better.
BUT I'm not gonna lie, I did expect more from it. It develops rather slowly. There's hardly any action and most of the scenes are just of people talking. By the end of it, I felt like nothing much really happened - which, I mean I guess is fine if that's what they were going for but I just really wish that they had developped his storyline a little more.
Nonetheless, I did like the film. MGK was amazing in it and I would definitely watch it again.
One Way (2022)
MGK delivers a stellar performance
It really isn't as bad as people make it out to be. I went in with really low expectations, thinking it was gonna be a horribly boring and tedious hour and a half of watching this guy being stuck on a bus BUT I was actually very surprised by how entertaining it truly was.
I liked the film a lot actually, and I think Colson Baker aka Machine Gun Kelly delivered a stellar performance. His acting is phenomenal in this movie, which I also did not expect. He managed to make me emotional and feel sympathy for his character. Definitely his best acting performance that I've seen in any of his films - maybe with the exception of the Dirt in which he also played Tommy Lee phenomenally.
So yeah, not sure why people rated this movie so low cause I think it was great. I liked it so much that I would even watch it for a second time.
