Brilliant mediocrity

This movie has everything: A poorly written script, overdone acting (except for maybe Bill Cobbs), an underdone plot, complete predictability, and an environmentalist undertone to top it off! Just the thing for the next generation of movie watchers. If there's nothing on Cartoon Network, that is.

That Darn Cat (1997)

No way!

Ladies and Gentlemen, may we present the worst of all Disney remakes. Although the name of this movie is "That Darn Cat", it should have been "That Darn Teen" or "FBI Agent". The cat didn't get any real good scenes, Ricci's character was more annoying than funny, Doug E. Doug didn't get any good lines, even Dean Jones's cameo role couldn't save this movie! The only really good characters were the town's only two auto mechanics, but their scenes were only brief. In all, I'd say that if you are considering watching this movie, go get something more intelligent like a Barney video.

Finally, Comedy!

What a performance! This movie honestly couldn't have gotten any better! The plot is a bit lacking, but the gags more than made up for it! Kronk has got to be the best character Disney has ever come out with! Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

The Original Masterpiece
12 February 2002
Okay, I have seen this on BBC 1 before Disney issued their worldwide ban. I can honestly say that there is NOTHING the matter with this movie! To all of you complainers, the word "massa" is never said or implied. The boy's grandmother is very kind to her "slaves" and treats them pretty much as equals. If anything, this movie preserves the African-American traditions and folklore that they should be proud of! Uncle Remus's simple wisdom shines through, and important lessons are learned by Johnny and his turbulent family.

I wish Disney would put this one back on the shelves. The dialect used is not offensive, it's historical! And the "stereotypes" are not meant to be insulting at all. Disney has done many things that are morally objectionable in modern "family" movies and TV shows, but they shouldn't have to suffer for this innocent movie.

Histeria! (1998–2000)
Histerical!

This cartoon has to be THE classic cartoon of the Warner Bros. "Silver Age Of Toons." The plot is simple, the show makes fun of history! Some classic sketches are employed in the making of this series. Also, portraying the historical figures as entertainment stars is sheer genius. (e.g. Frank Sinatra as Julius Caesar, Jerry Lewis as Meriwether Lewis, Mike Myers and Dean Martin both play Marc Antony, and Shirley MacLaine plays Joan of Arc.) For those of you who are classic comedy fans, this is a must-see!

Good, then bad.

Okay, this show only lasted 2 seasons. The first one was pretty funny. The second one was just plain stupid. The WB had done what they had always mocked, the dumbing down of kids shows. Having those annoying songs in the second season, Pinky falling in love with a pig, and Elmyra's role getting increasingly bigger in each episode made the whole thing bomb. However, "The Man From Washington", and "The Ravin" was worth a laugh or two. Still, don't waste your time watching the other shows.

Unusual, yet hilarious!

Here we find Bob Hope in a quite unusual role, as royalty! (He's been everything else, right?) A glamorous General Grimovich tries to convince Michael Valentine that he is the prince of Barovia and must ascend the throne temporarily until they hold their first democratic election. If he doesn't, an evil organization called the "Mordia" will take over the country. A rather involved plot for a Hope movie, but he still shines bright! Great performance by William Bendix in this one as well.
