Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)
Not as horrible as most people make it out to be
Since I started season 1 I had heard all these stories about how truly, horrendously, incomprehensibly awful the ending was but honestly, it was ok. It was by far one of the weakest of the series but it doesn't deserve the reviews it's gotten. A lot of the characters were butchered, for example Jaime, who all of a sudden decided to drop all of his character development. There was no explanation as to how or why Drogon and the unsullied didn't kill Jon, or why nobody mentioned that he is the true heir. A lot of times in this show scenes are removed for dramatic effect so that the audience can infer what had happened but in this episode it just seemed like lazy writing. Many of the characters' previous actions seemed like a means to an end. I was fine with Bran being king and Jon getting to live north of the wall as Arya discovers America but the characters just didn't have the same spice that they used to have and I don't think it was worth the shock value.
Bee and PuppyCat (2013)
Surprisingly Good
This 10 episode web series proves that adult animation can be done without being gratuitously raunchy, violent or profane. I was expecting the usual dynamic of an optimistic protagonist being constantly foiled by their cynical sidekick/deuteragonist, but was surprised when the characters actually showed emotional vulnerability instead of being psychopaths with no redeeming qualities (i.e. Family Guy). The animation is very well, especially when considering the budget. It is also very aesthetically pleasing, reminding me of Studio Ghibli, Steven Universe and maybe Adventure Time. All in all, it was an interesting experience and definitely worth the watch.
