I love this! The Godfather has long been my favorite book, and getting to be steeped in this aspect of its world is fascinating and a joy. Matthew Goode is a phenomenon as Robert Evans; I've always enjoyed MG as an actor but this role let's him take his art to a new level. I don't pretend I'm a film critic, so I won't go on and on, but I just wanted to share my enthusiasm that this show is as good as I'd hoped it would be.

Love this show! Easygoing, pretty show with the wonderful Roger Allam as lead, and the two main characters are in a healthy, loving relationship. The murder mysteries are interesting and not overly twisty, which fits the rest of the show's ambience.

Never too heavy or too light, the show has a most agreeable tone. LOVE Sarah Lancashire in this (and everything else), and she feels perfect for this part. Whether true to life or not, it's gratifying to see a partnership - Julia and Paul - that is mutually respectful and supportive, esp. One in the 60s. The supporting cast is well chosen. Though 8 episodes feels as if it might strain my good will if each isn't substantive, I think I'll make it through just fine since it's a wonderful cross stitching companion.

Clever premise. Snarky (and hot) Ryan. Cute, smart kid who's not too cute or too smart. JEN AND MARK! Decent, geeky action. Romance and humor. All this these elements I hoped for and we got. But I didn't expect the emotion or the depth - those put it over the top for me.

Same formula that worked beautifully for 20 years. Not just the split between law and order, but imperfect people who pull off an intelligent investigation and battle a challenging prosecution. New cast is great and good to see old friends.

What a beautifully crafted and emotional piece. Diane Lane and Kevin Costner were perfectly cast and carried out their roles beautifully. And one of the things that really blows my mind is that the same person who directed/wrote this did the same for The Family Stone - such wildly different tones yet both carried off with craftsmanship.

My god. This was a perfect episode. Time and again it caused such a depth of feeling, genuine ones. And the use of George Harrison's song at THAT moment? A perfectly manipulated emotion. And I say manipulated only because it was created, and isn't that what creators do? Try to create a reaction? They did, with great skill.

It was kind of startling seeing them 17 years older, but the chemistry and live were still there. Such a good series, and the reunion brought highlights back and they played games, and the guests didn't seem as intrusive as I thought They would be. They played sentimental music near the end, and yes, I shed a few tears.

I'm so disappointed there were only 7 episodes. It's easygoing entertainment, not taking itself too seriously. I like all the characters, and the leading men are yummy, even within their cookie cutter man roles. Fun to have watched.

One Day, the novel, is in my top 10 fiction list. The writing, the story, the characters are just magical, but the magic didn't translate to the screen. Anne and Jim are wonderful, as are the rest of the cast, but I think the construct of the book just doesn't work as well here. My conflict is that I want so badly to love the movie, but it's just okay, for me. It DOES have one of the most hauntingly lovely theme songs I've heard, and I wound up in Edinburgh because of the movie, so those are definitely upsides!

I so wanted to love this movie. Richard Curtis has written some of my favorite films, and with both of us being avid Beatles fans, I was sure it would be a winner. I loved the concept, but I saw no redeeming qualities or allure in the protagonist until the very end of the film. Richard Curtis is the king of creating couples who have chemistry, but not this time; perhaps my expectations were too great. I'll think about going to go see it again to see if lowered expectations will make it a better film for me. For now, I think I should go pop in my About Time DVD; that was one that I didn't think I'd like, but it's become one of my favorites.

It's been a long time since I've laughed as loud and as often as I did at this show. The caricatures of the royals were spot on, taking their foibles (as we all have) and stretching them into comic gold. It got to the point that all Fergie and her girls would have to do is appear on the screen, and I would laugh, knowing I would have a good time. The show is not perfect, but there's enough good stuff that I could coast through the parts that weren't, knowing a clever/funny scene was around the bend.

ERII, Prince Phillip, and the Cambridge kids' characters didn't appear on screen, but Phillip's curmudgeonly ways were represented in other ways, to great comic effect.
