Fûun! Takeshi Jô (2023)
Perspective on those claiming the show is too hard
Some people reviewing clearly didn't see the original, or they just prefer everything to be super easy, feel-good tv. Of course it's fine for some, but then let's face it: this show isn't going to be for you.
In the original run, the attackers only won 8 times out of 129(!). So no, it's not remotely supposed to be easy. That's the beauty of Takeshis Castle. Yes some games do seem a lot harder than in the original, but then again, candidates do get a lifeline and can qualify themselves again at least once.
If you loved the original, you can sit back and enjoy these just as well. You will also experience some nostalgia when you see some of the cameos in the show.
Blockbuster (2022)
Was looking forward to seeing this cast work together...
Unfortunately, this show is an absolute disappointment. I was hoping things might get better after 1-2 episodes, but the reality is, it didn't. With such a talented (and probably expensive) cast (especially Randall and Melissa) it's really surprising how this show could not afford decent writers.
All of this just feels off and If you're lucky, you might laugh once or maybe twice per episode, but to me those felt more like pity laughs.
This is one of those Netflix shows that someone thought sounded good, was marketed heavily, but then got absolutely no love, and it shows. Don't waste your precious life time on it.
